journeyman scaffolder at Northstar Access Women in the trades activist Unionist turned academia Unionist at heart
Pushing for equality means standing up for your marginalized employees no matter their sexuality. Women only make up 3 percent of workers in the trades and that number has been stagnet for decades. Organizations like the Carpenters’ Regional Council and Northstar Access need to start holding their male members accountable when they humiliate and harass the women workers. Equality is about treating all workers the same and not putting others above eachother based on gender or sexuality. Stop the bullying and hold those who are guilty of harassment and bullying accountable. You want more women in the trades then start holding your male members and your male management accountable for the horrible ways the treat women workers.

In our race of personal growth and self-empowerment, we often encounter a formidable obstacle called pride. Pride, defined as a deep sense of satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements, abilities, or qualities, can be a double-edged sword. While a healthy amount of pride can boost our self-esteem, excessive pride can hinder our personal relationships and hinder our ability to connect with our community. This post aims to explore the meaning of pride, its impact on our lives and relationships, and provide advice on effectively letting go of pride for the sake of harmony. While we're "leaving" PRIDE month behind, there's still more than enough work to do. Even within our own communities. With fear still very much a part of daily life and activities, there's a call from within "diversity" communities to adjust to the status quo. To just behave and be normal. Because then people won't have a reason to ... what? Attack you? Let us be unique and different and let us all, as people, give each other grace to be who we want to be. 🌈 Celebrating Diversity Beyond Pride Month - Let's Make an Impact with Small Decisions 🌈 As Pride Month comes to a close, it leaves us with a reminder that our celebration of diversity shouldn't end here. The small decisions we make every day can have a significant impact on fostering inclusivity and progress. We often believe we're supporting diversity, but it's important to reflect on how our individual actions contribute to the cause. Sometimes, it's the subtle, unconscious ways we interact that can make a difference. Consider a personal example from my family. I have four boys, ranging from a high school sophomore to college graduates. If I asked them all for vacation activity ideas, they'd likely suggest something like riding quads because it's "fun." However, if I included ideas from a female cousin or a girlfriend, shopping might come up as "fun" too. This simple example illustrates a complex issue. Our backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives shape our ideas and decisions. Embracing diverse viewpoints leads to richer, more innovative outcomes in all areas of life. Let's continue to champion diversity and inclusion, not just during Pride Month, but every day. By being mindful of our choices and considering diverse perspectives, we can pave the way for a more inclusive and vibrant future. 🌍✨ https://lnkd.in/gtqXVW5x #Diversity #Inclusion #BeyondPrideMonth #SmallDecisionsBigImpact #CelebrateDiversity Resources: • https://lnkd.in/gQZwjvKt • https://lnkd.in/gnm9GARG • https://lnkd.in/g9u2MvmR

🌟 Embracing Solidarity & Service 🌟 In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in our own pursuits. But let's pause for a moment to reflect on the timeless wisdom of St. Oscar Romero, a champion of solidarity and service to others. St. Romero once said, "Aspire not to have more, but to be more." These words resonate deeply, reminding us that true fulfillment comes from enriching the lives of others. In our professional journeys, let's prioritize empathy, compassion, and a commitment to uplifting those around us. Solidarity isn't just a word; it's a way of life. It's about standing shoulder to shoulder with our colleagues, clients, and communities, especially in times of need. Whether it's lending a helping hand, offering support, or simply listening with an open heart, every act of solidarity makes a difference. Service is the ultimate expression of love and humanity. St. Romero's words, "We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. This enables us to do something, and to do it very well," remind us that even small actions can have a profound impact. Let's strive to be catalysts for positive change, making our workplaces and communities more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate. In the spirit of St. Romero, let's recommit ourselves to the values of solidarity and service. Together, we can create a brighter, more empathetic world for all. #Solidarity #Service #Inspiration #StRomeroQuotes 🌍💫 #elsalvador

Does Pride Month make you uncomfortable? At first this made me smile but then if I look beyond my flippant reaction, this isn’t what I want at all. If Pride Month makes you uncomfortable, what I want is for you to ask yourself why? What business is it of ours who people love and how people identify? Why would we do anything other than embrace and accept it? Progress happens when we question and challenge ourselves, not from insulting those who feel uncomfortable. Let’s seek to understand and embrace difference. Our Pride Alliance have planned a month of events to educate, to celebrate and to engage allies. I can’t wait to listen and learn. Here’s to a Pride month filled will curiosity. We have much more in common than that which separates us. #pride #pridemonth #diversityequityandinclusion #embracedifference #belonging #dei

I CREATE VICTORS & DESTROY BAD MINDSETS | Motivational Speaker 🎤 | Founder at Victorious International | World Tour at The Tony Robbins Foundation | Author | Body Builder | Model
In life, no matter where we go or what paths we take, one universal desire connects us all: To be recognized as individuals. We all seek to feel valued and appreciated. We all want to know that our presence makes a difference. And we all want to know that someone is there to help when we need it. It’s about more than just acknowledgment. It’s about feeling understood and supported, especially when we need it most. Recognition and respect are not just about who we are. But also about the passion, dedication, and hard work we bring to everything we do. When we show genuine care for others, we create a space where everyone feels acknowledged and understood. One where everyone feels like they truly matter. This is how we build connections that uplift and empower us all.
