Stanley Tree Service is creating a challenge! We donated one tree removal for one dollar, and we want to ask others to continue this. We are challenging Above and Beyond Tree of Rhode Island to do the same! Want to be a part of the 1 Tree for 1 Dollar challenge? Rules: 1. This is really hard for me to articulate, but I need an outlet. I typically steer clear of political discussions. I never want to offend anyone because I'm not built that way, but I can't help but feel bewildered by recent events. How can someone be found guilty of 34 felony charges and then immediately raise $32 million in a SINGLE DAY? Meanwhile, nonprofits like mine, which make a real difference in our communities, struggle to raise funds. Funds that could create life-changing opportunities for young people providing them with the skills and connections they need to face challenges and secure meaningful jobs. Yet, we struggled trying to raise $3 million to purchase a building dedicated to workforce development for youth in foster care. We actually had to get a loan. Make it make sense! PRISM is in full swing for the Holiday Toy Shoppe & here are a few tips for doing the most good: 1. Nothing too big - many people are in smaller housing units 2. All included - when you need more stuff (an oven to bake cutie cupcakes) it becomes limited for families in challenging housing situations 3. Make sure batteries ARE included 4.
