Upcycled my way with Team Everest! Thrilled to share my experience at the Upcycle, online event hosted by Team Everest, a fantastic volunteering organization! The theme was all about giving waste a second life, and let me tell you, it sparked creativity like wildfire! My project? An adorable (and surprisingly sturdy) wall-hanging owl, crafted entirely from recycled newspaper! It was a blast learning new upcycling techniques and seeing the endless possibilities hidden within everyday discards. But the event wasn't just about crafts . It was a powerful reminder of the impact waste has on our planet. We heard eye-opening facts about pollution and the importance of sustainable practices. Every little bit we recycle counts, and this event gave me a serious dose of eco-inspiration! ♻️ So, here's my call to action: let's all upcycle our way to a cleaner planet! One newspaper owl, one plastic bottle planter, one cardboard box masterpiece at a time! Share your own recycled creations with #UpcycleForEarth and let's inspire each other to make a difference. #TeamEverest #UpCycle

A very exciting use- or recycling (upcycling ? ) of disposed fishing nets litter. One of the main sources of marine plastic pollution. This should be replicated in scale..
At Kerecis sustainability is the prize, quite literally! Our Aurora Awards Trophies – presented to grand prize winners at the Northern Lights Wound Workshop in Reykjavik – symbolize both achievement in the operating room and our commitment to sustainability! ♻️🌱 The top piece is created from recycled fishing nets and rope collected on shores, helping to clean up our oceans and protect marine life. With a look almost identical to marble, the base is crafted from recycled single-use packaging, upcycling waste into something beautiful and meaningful. We urge you to choose an eco-friendly solution whenever possible, minimize waste, and help protect our planet 🌍

Happy Earth Day! We're celebrating sustainability today and every day at Cometeer. Today, let’s make sustainability as simple as melting your favorite cup of Cometeer: 🔄 Our capsules are made from aluminum, which can be recycled indefinitely, versus other coffee pods that are made from aluminum alloys considered to be contaminants in standard aluminum recycling processes. ♻️ With no leftover grounds to contaminate recycling processes, our capsules are curbside recyclable. Plus, everything from shipping materials to dry ice is eco-friendly. 🌱 We collect 100% of grounds and partner with local composters in Massachusetts to repurpose them for gardens and farms, reducing waste and nourishing communities. 🔧 Our brewing methods extract more flavor with less energy, and ensure no bean goes to waste on a bad cup. 🤝 Our roasting partners source coffees via direct partnerships with smallholder farmers, ensuring sustainability from farm to cup.

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd. It is a day to raise awareness about the environment and to take action to protect it. First held in 1970, Earth Day has grown into a global event that is celebrated by people in more than 190 countries. The theme for Earth Day 2024 is "Planet vs. Plastics." This theme highlights the growing problem of plastic pollution and calls for action to reduce our reliance on it. There are many things that you can do to celebrate Earth Day and help protect the environment. Here are a few ideas: Get Active and Give Back: · Clean up your local environment. Organize or join a park or neighborhood cleanup to remove trash and debris. Plant a tree. Planting trees is a fantastic way to help our environment. You can plant one in your yard, or participate in a community tree planting event. Volunteer with an environmental organization: Many organizations hold Earth Day events, including trash pick-ups or cleaning up waterways. Connect with Nature: Go for a hike or bike ride. Immerse yourself in nature by exploring a local park or trail. Start a garden: Even a small balcony garden can provide fresh food and attract pollinators. Have a picnic in the park: Pack a delicious lunch and enjoy the beauty of a green space. Make Sustainable Swaps: Educate yourself. Learn more about environmental issues and how to reduce your impact. There are many resources available online and at your local library. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Revisit the classic eco-friendly practices to minimize waste. Support sustainable businesses. When you shop, opt to support companies with eco-conscious practices whenever possible. Celebrate at Home: Cook an earth-friendly meal. Focus on local, seasonal ingredients and plant-based options to reduce your carbon footprint. Have an Earth Day movie night. Watch documentaries or films that highlight environmental issues and solutions. Make Earth Day crafts with kids. Get creative and use recycled materials to make decorations or gifts. No matter how you choose to celebrate Earth Day, remember that every action counts! Even small changes in your daily routine can make a big difference for the planet. Hoover Ingredients is proud to support growers and organizations that are eco-conscious and operating in a sustainable manner.

I used to ponder, why we celebrate specific days for the environment when every day should be dedicated to it? Until a couple of years ago when a dear friend, Ashish Agrawal , invited me on a waste pilgrimage. We joined forces with the incredible "पर्यावरण मित्र" (sisters of environment), commonly known as rag pickers, to collect plastic waste from the roads. The experience was eye-opening. Witnessing the hardships these sisters endure—labor, disdain from society, and even being chased by street dogs—made me realize the gravity of our environmental crisis and plight of sisters. Ashish shared that it takes about 800-1000 bends to collect 18-20 kg of plastic, earning a mere INR 150-200. In my heart, I bowed to the spirit of sisters of environment! On the way, I saw a pile of waste, elated when I bent to pick the same… one of the sister shared, this is of no value, we won’t get even a rupee for a kg for this kinda of waste. That day, I made a commitment to avoid purchasing items packaged in non-recyclable materials. Six years on, I'm proud to say I've stuck to it. The following year, I learned the importance of not collecting oily plastic waste, as it contaminates other recyclables and requires thorough cleaning. Fast forward to this year's World Environment Day, where I joined the sisters in cleaning a specific location. The sheer volume and variety of plastic waste we encountered in just one hour left me stunned. It made me realize how integral plastic has become in our daily lives, yet its disposal poses a monumental threat to our planet. Though I'm still figuring out how to further reduce my environmental footprint, one thing is clear: through mindful consumption and conscious efforts, even the smallest actions can make a difference. Thanks to Ashish, the Paryavaran Mitra, and Bridge4Change for reminding us to approach each day with mindfulness. Let's commit to reducing our impact on the environment and living more sustainably. #WorldEnvironmentDay #MindfulLiving 🌍 What’s your reminder ? What’s your practice of mindfulness ?

Green World CampaignKenya, This year's Earth Day Celebration we're focusing on our 'Planet Vs Plastic' initiative to combat plastic pollution and protect our environment. We are proud to be at the forefront of innovative solutions to reduce plastic waste. Our team is committed to empowering farmers to repurpose and recycle plastics in sustainable and practical ways. Here's how we're making a difference: Tree Nursery Establishments: We're helping farmers recycle plastic into tubing bags, which are used in tree nursery establishments for reforestation and afforestation. This not only promotes the growth of new forests but also reuses plastic that might otherwise end up in landfills. Sack Gardens for Food Security: We're encouraging the use of recycled plastic sacks to create Sack Gardens. These gardens are a sustainable solution for growing vegetables, ensuring food security for local communities, and reducing the amount of plastic waste in the environment. By repurposing plastic, we can help rid our environment of harmful materials that could end up in our landfills and eventually contaminate our food systems and water catchment areas as microplastics Join us in our mission to make the planet a cleaner, healthier place. Together, we can create a sustainable future. Happy Earth Day! 🌱♻️

LiveGreenUSA has always championed green solutions, from regenerative landscaping to waste reduction. Now, we’re taking our mission to the streets—literally. Olivia English, founder of LiveGreenUSA, began her journey with a focus on regenerative landscaping—promoting the re-wilding of lawns, pesticide-free gardens, native plants, and composting. Passionate about sustainability, Olivia saw the growing issue of plastic waste in the agricultural industry. Every plant comes in plastic and every job site riddled with plastic pollution. Most landscaping jobs where half just picking up trash week after week. With no where for this trash to go and seeing plastic as an amazing resource, Olivia decided to pivot to a new challenge: transforming urban infrastructure through circular solutions.
