We spent £300 on mugs in December. Here’s how I plan on getting a 100x ROI on those mugs ↓ 1️⃣ Context For months, the team have been moaning about the fact we don’t have company mugs. And by “The team” I mean Chloe Fox (avid tea drinker) 2️⃣ The purchase So, in December we finally decided to make it happen and get some RB mugs created. ”Why £300 mugs?” They weren’t, we just bought a botched set first and had to buy them again. 3️⃣ Our why Over the next 2 weeks, Morgan and I are spending 5 hours interviewing candidates for our open roles. That’s before 2nd round of interviews (probably another 2-3 hours). If you calculate the amount that will cost the business it would easily be in the £1000s. But we need to hire, so there’s nothing we can do. 4️⃣ The ROI In the long term, these costs are going to stack up with each hire we make. You know what I don’t want to do? Spend time hiring for a team member we’ve lost. So for me, spending £300 on mugs to make the team 1% happier and increase the chances of them staying by 1%… Is an absolute no-brainer. Ironically, this post isn’t about mugs. It’s about building a moat around your team. For us, the company mugs were just another 1% added to that moat. P.S. YOU CANNOT MANAGE WHAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE 😵💫 ❌ This is a HUGE mistake I see many newbies in the industry try and do. They try and hire VA's to purchase homes in the beginning of building their business before they have even put a deal under contract themself. ❗DO. NOT. DO. THIS. 5️⃣ You MUST learn the business first, and do a minimum of 5 deals before you should even consider hiring out an acquisition position.

I’m a damn good employee when I’ve had Jobs you know what if employers don’t want me because I’m a felon it’s your loss because I’m a hard worker and I show up. I don’t wanna hear no more employers saying they are short staffed start hiring felons hire me and I’ll get the Job done right and show up. I don’t need to be micromanaged train me and I’ll get the Job done right I show up when I’ve had Jobs. But places keep hiring shitty employees that do a half ass Job and don’t show up. I have a college degree, work experience and marketable skills. Apparently none of that matters to employers there to busy looking at my criminal record.
