The exercise included the autonomous trans-Pacific navigation of four prototype USVs, including the larger Mariner and Ranger, and the medium-sized Sea Hunter and Sea Hawk. These vessels participated in key exercises like the Large Scale Exercise and Exercise Autonomous Warrior, collaborating with various naval forces. The exercise tested communication systems, personnel requirements, and control transition across different environments, offering valuable feedback for future operations. Australia and the US have unveiled new prototype uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs), Ghost Shark and Manta Ray, respectively, to enhance Pacific naval defenses. These UUVs represent advancements in undersea warfare, aiming to exert power while minimizing human risk. Ghost Shark, developed by Australia and Anduril Australia, promises stealthy, long-range capabilities for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike missions. Sea Drone Technology Will Transform Naval Warfare

Permit me to ask, what kind of grotesque dystopia have we stumbled into when LinkedIn, the once-innocuous platform for professional networking, now rolls out the digital red carpet for purveyors of death? Yes, it appears missile manufacturers, with all the suave shamelessness of a cigarette company at a cancer gala, are now targeting their “market” with glossy ads on LinkedIn. This is not merely distasteful; it is a morally bankrupt spectacle that transforms the supposed bastion of professionalism into a shopping mall for the merchants of annihilation. We must ask ourselves: how is it that this once-neutral space has evolved from connecting colleagues to promoting weaponry designed with the singular purpose of snuffing out human life? Let us not feign ignorance here. These manufacturers, with their slick PR campaigns and sanitized jargon, are not offering “defense solutions” or “advanced technologies” in any benign sense. They are selling tools of destruction, products intended to obliterate towns, shatter communities, and tear apart human flesh. And LinkedIn—the so-called “platform for opportunity”—is complicit in this grotesque spectacle by providing them the digital stage to parade their wares. We should be clear: there is no nobility in enabling the machinery of war to profit from our collective connectivity. This is the monetization of misery, the commodification of conflict, packaged under the deceitful banner of “innovation.” The moral rot here is not just in the advertisers but in the very system that enables them. LinkedIn’s willingness to accept blood-stained money betrays any pretense it ever had of being a space for meaningful professional development. How far have we sunk that the networking hub where people seek careers to support their families also showcases content on how best to decimate other families abroad? To allow missile manufacturers to hawk their lethal goods alongside job postings and leadership advice is not just vile—it’s a bleak commentary on the amoral marriage of capitalism and violence. If the professional sphere can find a place for death-dealers, then professionalism itself has become nothing more than a charade—a soulless enterprise where human values are auctioned off to the highest bidder.

A lot of good points in this piece, but this one stuck out to me (I wonder why?). "To do so, the surface force must have a capable organic intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform to replace its aging helicopter fleet, one that can find and fix targets hundreds of miles from the ship from which it launched." #Helicopters are largely irrelevant in the open waters of the Pacific.
