Maju PerezEgana is the founder and CEO of Green Sun Foods and a determined client of Roseview. We recently connected with Maju and asked her a few things about her entrepreneurial journey. Can you share a pivotal moment in your journey that empowered you to pursue entrepreneurship? “I decided to launch my products in Canada without even having a broker, a distributor, and in between the process of moving to Canada. I considered this a very hard decision to make. I had to bet on my brand, work, and ability to get this up and running. I thought that this was the only way to start, and it took us some time to give it a go since it was a huge step in this process. Here we are two years later, with more than 300 stores and growing brand awareness.” To the women entrepreneurs seeking advice in the business world; “It is really important to look for some guidance when you are introducing yourself in a different world, in a different market, or even if you have never been an entrepreneur. Everything is written, and you just need to ask for help to thrive and grow. So much fun celebrating local female entrepreneurs in Marylebone village yesterday at The Doyle Collection, Marylebone Hotel. These are some of the entrepreneurs who make our local high street a great place to live and of course eat, shop and get pampered! It included Lara Mead, Co-founder of Varley, Limor Chen, Founder of Delamina restaurants, Patricia Michelson, Founder of La Fromagerie and Margaret Dabbs OBE Founder of Margaret Dabbs London. Hosted by the wonderful Jo Good with special guest Lucy Reber from Stylist Magazine. 15 lessons from entrepreneurs: 1. Allies can come from anywhere 2. Don't be afraid to start small 3. Don’t let what you don’t know hold you back 4. Keep reinventing and being discovered  5. Be comfortable being underestimated - no one sees you coming 6. At any time do something different and change your life - its never too late 7. Get savvy, get the tools you need, start with few overheads, start slow, enjoy the journey and the learning curve 8. Back yourself first before getting backing from anyone else 9. Find a 'rein in person' as your counterpart if you are the creative visionary 10. Understand the nuts and bolts of your business 11. Hire people who are better at things than you are 12. Be a role model for the next generation, including your family 13. Trust your gut instinct, know when to listen and when to push on 14. Qualities in all entrepreneurs: passion, drive, determination, resilience - don't give up and don’t be intimidated, confidence is key - although this can grow over time 15.
