CAMPAIGN LAUNCH! For years, PepsiCo Juntos Crecemos has championed Latina small business owners through its signature campaign, Jefa-Owned. Today, on National Latina Day, we proudly launch year three of this incredible initiative to celebrate the economic, cultural and community contributions of Latina entrepreneurs. Despite starting businesses at 6x the rate of other entrepreneurial cohorts, Latinas face overwhelming challenges that hinder their growth. Jefa-Owned aims to close these resource gaps and rally national support for jefas. Last week, we hosted some of the most prominent advocates for Hispanic empowerment including actress and philanthropist Stephanie Beatriz (Disney’s Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Evelyn Barahona of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), and Maria Gonzalez, the owner of Bistró Casa Azul in East Harlem, NY, along with our esteemed #PepsiCo partners, and top journalists at an exclusive event in Maria’s restaurant in New York City. This year, we’ve expanded the Jefa-Owned platform to spotlight even more Latina small businesses, introduced Jefa empowerment sessions and “Jefa Hour” (more in link below), and through PepsiCo Juntos Crecemos, in partnership with Hello Alice, the brand is providing more than $400K in grants and essential business-building resources.
