PRIME is a really interesting case study on how influencer selling, brand representation and personalities in business can create quite literally billions of sales in just under 2 years (but also how this doesn’t mean any brand could replicate the success). I thought I’d stick my oar in and do a bit of a deep dive on why this worked: 👨💻 Personality and Profile - Both KSI and Logan Paul have huge social followings (gained through a healthy mix of engaging content, multi-platform presence and controversy), meaning a loyal fan base. At this level, these two have a huge share of the social voice and influence on their audience that trust them, absorbing their influence like the proverbial sponges they are. 🥊 The “Character Arc” - In a now heavily oversaturated world of YouTube Boxing, KSI and Logan Paul were the pioneers of this on the brave new frontier. From bitter rivalry to chummy business pals, this plays out as a tale as old as time (watch any animated movie from the 90s-00s and you’ll know what I mean). This made the announcement all the more shocking but also united audiences for a bigger combined addressable market (what I call the “Avengers Endgame” effect). 🏰 Scarcity VS Demand - When PRIME launched on shelves there were scenes akin to the siege of Helms Deep, with swathes of teens storming their local ASDA in pursuit of the sweet nectar (which is really just sugary flavoured water and very overhyped). The fact that the demand was so high resulted in even more scarcity, creating a cycle of stock demand and a lucrative second hand market on eBay/local corner shops. 💰 Affordability and Accessibility - Despite being associated with two of social media’s biggest presences in the teen to young adult market, pricing remained consistent and accessible within the market. Stocking in national supermarkets also meant it was easy to obtain and could be the constant blight of parents from nagging children. This allowed them to easily compete with existing products and take significant market share from brands like Powerade, Lucozade and even Coke. While it’s an insane and slightly bonkers story, it shows the power online personalities now have in diversifying their platforms into fully fledged, commercially viable businesses. With Mr Beast launching Feastables at a similar time it begs the question…PRIME flavoured chocolate?

All performed well, I have my favorites and honestly do not find the branded ones worth the extra money! I personally rate them :- 1. Rossini 2. Birra Mapelli 3.
