Brathwaite delves into the significant issue of the underrepresentation of disabled professionals throughout the nonprofit sector. The article also sheds light on a key challenge we at Disability Belongs™ are working to address through strategic partnerships - organizations' lack of intentionality in purposefully attracting and retaining disabled talent, particularly in public-facing roles and leadership positions. For people who want to get involved in activism on one of the major national or world problems such as the climate crisis or reproductive rights, what are having trouble identifying a form of activism project that is a good fit for them or their lifestyle, but would still make a difference. Great book!

In Aspen Leadership Group’s ongoing work to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), we recently spent time reflecting internally on the topic of accessibility. Our time spent was helpful in identifying and acknowledging how we can grow and learn on this important topic.   As part of our learning, members of our team identified many existing resources from around the philanthropic and advocacy communities to begin or advance our shared understanding of accessibility, disability, and ableism.
