The tragic events in Southport have sparked a wave of violence and unrest, leaving communities feeling deeply divided. In contrast, the Olympics in Paris have shown a powerful display of unity amid competition, highlighting the potential of coming together, even in rivalry.
Returning to the UK after a decade in Australia, where I worked with the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, I've seen firsthand the impact of creating spaces where people feel heard. In a world where some leaders are encouraging chaos and division, it's time for us to come together and find unity in our diversity.
