Do you feel safe at work? When I first moved to MN, got on state health insurance, and met my partner who worked in healthcare, I started visiting care providers that actually... cared. After years fearfully avoiding medical providers who in my experience were justifying that fear through malpractice, medical gaslighting, and poor bedside manner, I had a different experience. The first positive experience I had in healthcare was the question I am still asked at the beginning of every visit - "Do you feel safe at home?" For the first time, healing through a lifetime of trauma, neglect, and abuse - I was able to answer, confidently, "Yes." Today, as I listen to We Keep Us Safe by ZACHARY Norris, I wonder, what if we asked that question? "Do you feel safe at work?" #safe #security #publicsafety #trust
