Recruiting in digital health isn't easy. Every company in this space does things differently. Most companies run on a b2bc – selling their solutions directly to other businesses and with the end users being employees (through employer benefits) or patients (through health plans). Now, when it comes to commercial sales roles with in these orgs, it's a mixed bag. Some reps are laser-focused on cozying up to big insurance players like Blue Cross Blue Shield or Aetna. Others are deep in the game with healthcare providers and hosital systems. Smaller companies ( seed-series b) usually hire folks who can handling a bit of everything. Bottom line: This industry is tough stuff. Long cycles, big challenges. Knowing where to go to FIND these kinds of people who can move your business forward is paramount. That's where we come in.

I’ve worked with a variety of clinics when it came to improving their operations and educating them on policies, techstack, and metrics. Genetics, ENT, Primary, OB/GYN, and Oncology to name a few. I always had a blueprint going into each project but the key was knowing that change will happen as nothing can be one size fits all when it comes to solutions, especially in healthcare. The key aspects of working with accounts? Adaptability - Nothing will ever go as planned. Between system/department policies, insurance, and gov’t regulations there are a lot of moving parts to impact your plan. Communication - Share your ideas and path clearly and in a way that everyone will understand. Have the client raise their voice with their problems, desires, current ops, and where they want to be. Proactive actions - Always bring something new to each meeting for the client to build on. If a new process didn’t work then have a Plan A and Plan B to discuss depending on the outcome of the trial period. Compare and contrast clients with similar issues to gauge what has/hasn’t worked. Bring up features in software that can be of benefit to personnel. Always have something of value to offer. Accountability - The client is looking towards you for guidance, information, and education. Being consistent is key. Patience - You can never underestimate how important patience is. You won’t always work with the most tech savvy people. Operations won’t always make the most sense. People will always say something that makes you go, um… what? Just roll with it. You have a goal to achieve. Data - Having data to back up your ideas and strategy will help reduce client resistance to change. Show them their current performance and explain how you’ll take them to the next level with evidence.
