🌟 I am honored to work alongside some great people who are passionate about helping others and making a difference in the community. For the past several weeks, our sales and marketing team at ShareSTAFF has been strategizing and planning our first company-wide initiative. This initiative was collaborative and fun and added some friendly competition between the teams, but it resulted in massive success. I did want to give a special shout-out to some remarkable players from our two-day event who went above and beyond to ensure that we were successful by 124% of the completion goal that we were initially aiming for. 🚀 ⭐ Chauncy F. - You led one of the teams, and I appreciated your thoroughness and dedication to gathering information. This led to the implementation of several proposals for our services. Your feedback has enabled our team to develop and work together at each event. ⭐ Selena N. -You made the impossible happen by ensuring that our target market was organized and that we had administrative support throughout the entire process. You even took the initiative to speak directly with customers in person, going above and beyond to make it happen. ⭐ Tee Alarcon - Your creativity and innovation brought some incredible ideas for promoting our brand through the goodie bags you prepared for our clients. The bags included a fun message and our contact information. We appreciate your participation in yesterday's event and your contributions to the conversations that took place. 📢 I wanted to express my gratitude to our branch operations team (Monserrat Bautista, and ALFREDO CALZADA) for participating in our event. They were not only attentive listeners but also actively engaged in conversations with representatives from different companies. It takes a special kind of person to adapt quickly to change, and I must say that our recruiting team did a phenomenal job by staying engaged and effectively presenting the recruitment and onboarding process to our potential clients. Today marks my 100th day at Jewson Partnership Solutions. It has been exciting so far, filled with warmth, support, and new opportunities. Here are a few highlights from this milestone: 🤝 Onboarding and Welcome: From day one, the open and supportive culture at Jewson Partnership Solutions, has helped me understand the business and made me feel like a valued part of the team.   🎨 Projects and Initiatives: Currently, I'm enjoying being involved in some new initiatives, such as the rebranding project of our sister business, George Boyd UK . Exciting times ahead as we shape the future of our brand!  🌐 Company Culture: What impresses me the most is the open and transparent communication within the wider STARK Building Materials UK. Frank discussions, peer support, and an inclusive environment, make every day a pleasure to be part of.  🤗 Colleague Support: A big shoutout to my colleagues for their unwavering support. From meeting invitations, to inclusive email conversations, and message groups, their effort is appreciated. 🔑 Observations: One key observation I'd like to share, is the importance of a simple but clear strategy that everyone owns. Building a business is always about relationships. There is so much about living around the world during my nearly 20 years and 10 moves of military life that I treasure. Lacking a deep professional network where I live is NOT one of them. In almost 6 months we’ll be a #veteran family. It’s surreal. It’s exciting. And I already miss the community aspect everyone talks about missing as they transition to civilian status. So, knowing this is our home for the next decade or more, I’ve started pushing myself outside my comfort zone to build a local professional network. And I’ve found an incredibly supportive community in the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. What I’ve appreciated most so far, early in my membership, is the lack of competition, welcoming and inclusive vibe, and the way members look out for each other. Last night, I set up my first strengths focused vendor table at a Chamber Wellness Fair. I’ve learned that momentum, for me, comes when I create opportunities to talk about why I love the work I do. This was no exception. I loved learning about other businesses, and I loved getting to share my passion for supporting individuals and teams in their development. But most of all I loved feeling like maybe, just maybe, I had found a community to fill the void that I know is coming. It was great to see my friend and wellness supporter, Danielle Smith. I’m grateful for Angela Inzerillo, Scott Boddie, Kevin Taylor, Philip Assante, and Alicia Liddle for being a friendly and familiar face in the crowd. #buildingcommunity #militarytransition #businessdevelopment #teambuilding

The defining moment in my career happened in early 2004 💼 💼 I was working for John Lewis & Partners as a selling Department Manager, and the Managing Director of John Lewis Southampton asked me to step away from my selling role to join the HR team. 💼 Back then it was called Staff Office, these were very different times! 💼 I had been hoping to move to a particular selling department, in fact I was convinced that's why my MD wanted to talk to me. I think he knew, and on reflection I'm convinced he knew I might not be too keen on a role in Staff Office. 💼 I was professional and listened to his request, of course I said yes, these were the early days of my career and ultimately I was (and continue to be) driven by helping others achieve collective goals for the success of the team. I've always loved understanding my role in the big picture, and he knew how to paint that picture, engaging and motivating me to be my very best. ⭐ Little did I know this would be the most significant moment in my career, as over the weeks, months and years that followed I discovered my calling. ⭐ Indulging briefly in my memories of John Lewis, I worked with some of the most inspirational and hard working people, and I am fortunate to now call many of them friends. Claire Dunkason thank you for that first opportunity to be part of your team, I have zero regrets and am grateful for the huge learning opportunities that came with our time in Staff Office, and of course the fun. Today on International HR Day, I am celebrating; 🎉 the opportunity that presented itself to me 20 years ago 🎉 saying YES 🎉 the fabulous people I had the opportunity to work with and learn from at JL ⭐ You never know what is around the corner, and how one seemingly small decision can have such a powerful impact on you and those around you for days and years to come. ⭐ So, as I continue to shape my own future in HR with The Best Version I encourage you to be open and brave to the opportunities that are ahead of you, to trust your instincts and be true to the best version of you.
