I love how buildings can make a place feel special. Even a simple street can feel magical if the buildings are cool enough. It’s like they have a special power to change how we see the world. Sometimes, a building can make me feel small and amazed. Other times, it can make me feel like I’m part of something bigger and more important. It’s like each building has its own story to tell. #architecture #buildingmagic #urbanbeauty #architecturelover #buildingstories #urbanexploration

DID YOU KNOW? There is a large abandoned subway system beneath the streets of Cincinnati. Proposed in the 1910s, the project was interrupted by World War I and abandoned later. Many people don't realize that Cincinnati has a subway. The main reason is that the subway has never been in operation. The subway tunnel under the streets has been silent and abandoned for over 50 years. The Essence of Architecture Architecture is far more than constructing buildings—it's about how those structures connect with the earth and honour the surrounding environment, including the flora and fauna that share our world. A principle I learned from my Guru Ar. Gaurav Bhangre believes that true architecture is defined by how gently a building touches the ground and respects its natural surroundings. It’s about designing spaces that honour the delicate balance of nature, blending seamlessly with the land while minimizing disruption to the local ecosystem. Every project should reflect a commitment to preserving the beauty and vitality of our environment, ensuring that our built creations contribute positively to the world around us. I like this - higher densities should enable more green space. Is it time for a calculation Xm2 floor space realises YxXm2 open green space? Y being the green space factor. I see so much high rise development with poorly lit green space between. Isn’t this what planning is supposed to be about?
Here's my issue with showing trees on balconies in renderings: it's unfair to the public. It sets unrealistic expectations and the chances of it being built that way, are very slim. Then, as part of the research for this video I learnt that even if it does get built as shown, it's not as eco-friendly as we might think. When it comes to Dutch architecture, opinions can be polarized. Some argue that it's always been, and continues to be, boring. But is that truly the case? Aaron Betsky challenges this notion of Dutch architecture as boring in his thought-provoking article on Dezeen. He highlights the diverse range of architectural styles and perspectives that Dutch architects offer, from the iconic works of Rem Koolhaas to the innovative designs of Wiel Arets and Jacob Van Rijs. My personal question is, is industrialization of the architectural practice what is causing the monotony of the boxes mentioned in the article, or will we continue to blame regulations? #DutchArchitecture #ArchitecturalPerspectives #DesignDiversity Link to article: https://lnkd.in/eAn7pReT

Nature co-creating architecture? On this World Architecture Day, we recognize the urgent need to reevaluate the relationship between the built and natural environments. With nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions coming from buildings, sustainability is now a necessity, not an option. At our recent flagship project, Republic of Nature - RON, we have embraced this challenge by making the architectural theme for the project ‘Embracing Nature'. Striving to create a livable, cohesive and sustainable community. The design incorporates eco-friendly material and abundant green spaces that harmonize with the natural landscape. The project is crafted to ensure that nature is not just a backdrop, but an integral part of daily life. Our philosophy is rooted in ensuring that our projects complement its environment rather than competing with it because Integrating nature into construction is transforming how we design spaces, aligning with the principles of biophilia, our innate connection to the natural world. #worldarchitectureday #GTB #RON
