Everything I needed to know in life I learned from watching the x-files. Okay, maybe not everything.. But it did teach me a lot of valuable lessons They translate pretty well in the professional world. -Question Everything Don't just accept things. Be curious, dig deeper, and challenge assumptions. -Seek the truth even when its weird Don't be afraid to explore unconventional ideas and approaches. I've been told everything worth doing is outside my comfort zone. -Trust your gut but bring data too Intuition is powerful and works better if you balance it with critial thinking. -The truth is out there, but the journey matters too Enjoy the process, the answers are downloading in the meantime. -Embrace the fringe Some of the most disruptive innovations often originate from the fringes of established norms. -Leave a legacy even if its a single file Just like this show left a lasting impact on pop-culture. Energy eats words for lunch, dinner, breakfast... I worked with a brilliant sr. tech team designing the future of tech this week. The goal: take some big risks with communications and exercising bolder voices, expression and storytelling in new ways - stories, no slides, no jargon. They got hung up on WORDS and in their heads. We built a supportive, funny, collaborative environment. Clucky, my mascot rubber chicken, got a lot of love. I took away the script. Then everything SHIFTED. These brilliant people KNOW their stuff. To a person, when you are out of your head and emotionally dialed in, your energy changes. You are creative, innovative, dynamic and bold. They rocked it. This week in the Thrive team we compared ourselves to a sausage machine – you get the ingredients, grind it up, and hope it turns out delicious. One key lesson?
