Being an entrepreneur is an act of courage, but can be a lonely affair. Whether running a family business, or a professional practice, you take risks on a daily basis and surround yourself with a fantastic support team to garner best practices and bounce the trade-offs off of. However, it is lonely, in that we all thirst to learn what others are doing in their businesses. That is, we are craving a support network of others like us. At Fortin Wealth, we find ourselves being one of the privileged teams, as our successful entrepreneurial families often bring us into the foray of operational challenges as a way of vetting and discussing potential outcomes. Mostly, as we have a roster of clients that resemble them. But what about in our own practice? I was just reflecting on our annual President's Council conference which took place last month in Tulum. This is an annual conference celebrating the top practices nationally where we share best practices and challenges and of course, celebrate. Even though some of the fellows in this picture with me I only get to see once a year, I know that if I ever needed to reach out for advice, to vent, or pick their brain, that they would be quick to make white space in their calendar to help me out. And, knowing that support is out there for this lonely business owner is a key metric for a successful practice.
