The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. Our five-year hiatus is over, and 2024 will be an exciting year as we build new partnerships with communities (urban, rural, and agrihoods) that want to thrive.  We have been working since 2012 to localize food, water, and energy systems. Dr. Mark Hyman, author of "Food Fix," asserts, "Our most powerful tool to reverse the global chronic disease epidemic, heal the environment, reverse climate change, end poverty and social injustice, reform politics, and revive economics – is food!" By creating a local food ecosystem, SCI ignites local community and economic development projects that create jobs and micro businesses, foster entrepreneurs, and capitalize on the great asset of a community - its people.

On some trends, Canady has this to say, "Climate, health, and humanitarian issues are all significant challenges that span across sectors and geographies. They are difficult to tackle. We are seeing more collaboration between donors, leading to donor collaboratives. Instead of trying to solve a problem from scratch, if you've already made progress and I can learn from you, then let's pool our resources and fund solutions that are already working." These funds supported innovative projects and initiatives that drove social change and strengthened our communities. Thank you to all supporters for making this possible!
