(Yet another) half a billion stolen from their own people and the world cries out about Israel’s blockade of aid which in terms of actual necessities is at its highest it’s ever been. The only reason not as many trucks, is all the other historical trucks were importing cement etc for Hamas’ critical infrastructure projects - their underground terror tunnels. The genius Kamala Harris and others in the US prevented Israel entering Rafah for months saying it’s impossible to move a million people - that it would take months to do so - that “she had spent ages studying the area and routes” And yet, the IDF achieved this in days. And this is not only well thought out planning by the IDF to do its utmost to prevent as many civilian casualties as it has done so successfully throughout this war -it’s the growing will of the Palestinian people knowing that Israel has their interest at heart also, far more so than Hamas, and that any point they’re moved to, is an area they can access aid versus, staying and being continually abused by Hamas. And this is the likely answer to an end to this nightmare for both sides. IDF systematically destroying Hamas, and the Palestinians gaining the courage to take Hamas on and not follow its force and directives to be sacrificed - so that Hamas (and Iran) has more marketing material for the world to blindly and so stupidly cheer on. The last thing any Israeli wants is to be in Gaza, so the sooner these 2 positive forces grow, the sooner Palestinians will have their homes rebuilt and lives back… - and most importantly Israel’s children and all hostages back home.

Giving security gaurds power's to use physical force, and businesses the right to arm themselves and use physical violence, will escalate the violence in our community. What we are talking about here is allowing and encouraging the creation of citizen led militia. Is this what we want for our communities? Violence begets violence. If we go down this track we will see more people hurt, and I fear, more people will die. We need to deescalate this conversation, and instead focus our attention back on solutions that work. I have huge empathy for the suffering and trauma experienced by whānau in our business community. No one should fear going to work. And if our Government cares about ensuring our whānau who run small businesses are cared for, than we need to take the evidence seriously. Anything less is a choice to weaponize the trauma and pain of a community, in order to drive forward ill-conceived policy, which will result in further perpetuating harm in our community and fail to address the issues at their core or prevent harm from occuring. Punishment does not bring peace. Only #LoveIsTheWay
