Heathrow Express, I get it that sometimes things go wrong that are outside your control which means you can’t run a service from Heathrow to Paddington. You are providing a premium service (and ticket prices reflect that), so it would have been a good experience if you had informed your customers in the arrivals terminal rather than at the station and provided an alternative. Instead, the service you provided was anything but a good experience. #customerexperince #servicedelivery #customerservice

Airport parking charges and drop Off charges are a real bone of contention for travellers and are a huge “hidden” cost to travellers, businesses and workers. I have just been informed that Heathrow have increased the 30 minute parking fee, the cost travellers and businesses have to pay to collect people, has gone up by 25%. £7.50 for 30 minutes parking. I cannot see how a 25% increase can be justified when inflation is half of that and continues to decline. This is basically a stealth fee on travellers and businessss that bring Heathrow’s customers to their doors. It’s time for the drop off and pick up stealth charge trend to be challenged and reviewed. #businesstravel #yourbta #travelmanagement #corporatetravel

We had a strong start to 2024 with a total of 10.3 million passengers passing through Sydney Airport from January to March. This represents a 14.4% increase on passenger traffic during the same period last year and a 93.7% recovery compared to Q1 2019. Domestic and regional passenger traffic was up 8.2% on the same period last year, with 6.16 million passengers coming through the T2 and T3 domestic terminals and a 91.9% recovery rate on Q1 2019. Throughout Q1, 100% of domestic passengers and 99.9% of international passengers passed through security in less than 10 minutes. At the T2 and T3 Domestic terminals, 92.6% of passengers departed on time for their flight during the first wave of departures, with 83.6% of passengers departing on time for international services.

In the news: the relaxation of the 100ml Liquid ban at UK Airports It is believed unlikely that #LondonHeathrow, #Gatwick, #Manchester and many other UK based airports will have the necessary security scanning equipment in place by 01 June 2024, to allow a relaxation of the liquid limits. Trials began in 2018, and UK airports have been gradually putting new scanners in place – with some smaller airports including Teesside and London City Airport, having already completed their installations. For more detail on this news: :https://buff.ly/42cQsGB. Are your #businesstravellers aware of this? Have you worked with them to make sure they don't fall foul of the highly likely disruption and confusion? How do you communicate how they can be ready? The cut-off date for the restrictions to be lifted is NOT THE SAME as the restrictions actually being lifted! Without the (expensive, hard to source and install) equipment in place, it will be impossible to achieve the goal. And commentators have already warned that different UK airports will have different rules, so at some places you will need to get the liquids out in advance, at others you won't. This will cause confusion and likely extra hold-ups at security. Learn more about how to prepare your #businesstravellers at #TOMS24 #TravelOptimisationManagementSummit on 18 March this year.
