Speaking of work-life balance, finding a space to connect deeply with ourselves is crucial. It's not always about work or family. Personally, sports, trail running, and long-distance Ultra races are my go-to for that connection. Lately, I've been passionate about triathlon too. 🏃♂️🚴♂️🏊♂️ #WorkLifeBalance #Sports #Triathlon #SelfCare. And you, what have you chosen to do

🚴♂️🚴♂️"Surplace" in Cycling & Culture Development I must admit, I am not at all in cycling. However, this weekend the concept of "Surplace" came to my mind. In the world of cycling, there's a fascinating technique where a cyclist appears to be riding in place, without moving forward. And much like in cycling where riders maintain their balance and readiness to move forward at the right moment, in organizational culture, the ability to adapt and maintain equilibrium is crucial. There are some potential parallels of Surplace to organizations and culture development: 🚲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: While Surplace may give the impression of standing still, cyclists are always ready to move when the opportunity arises. Similarly, companies should be ready to seize opportunities and move forward when the situation changes. 🚲 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Just like cyclists holding their position, companies need to be flexible to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions. 🚲 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: In cycling, teams work together to master Surplace. A strong organisational culture requires effective teamwork and open communication. 🚲 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Surplace requires the ability to remain steadfast in challenging times. And this also requires concentration and energy. Equally, companies need to be with staying power and think long-term to build a sustainable culture. ❓ Does this analogy work? Or is it a totally unlikely scenario, since standing still is a step backwards in the context of culture development? Curious to hear your views on it. #Surplace #Organizationalculture #Collaboration #Culturedevelopment Picture: wikipedia, Sur place - Yondi Schmidt - Grégory Baugé in 10/2009

As summer fades away, winter gets closer And Wales 🏴 gets wetter 🌧 My cycling shifts from mainly out doors, to mostly indoors 🏠 From lovely mountainous views To a hot and sweaty garage 🥵 I wouldn't change it though, cycling indoors, or outdoors keeps me sane and helps me switch off from business and life in general It's where my best LinkedIn ideas are made 😂 Is it as wet as Wales where you live? #Zwift #FinancialPlanning #MollamWealthManagement

Nothing feels better than waking up early in the morning, getting a good workout in, good breakfast, hot coffee and to work! Its been about 4.5 months since starting "working remotely" and I have never been more efficient with my days, work my schedule my way and stay connected with my wife who also works from home. My meals have been A LOT more quality and also staying active swimming, running and cycling! Work from home has become very controversial in corporate America, but I sign off on it as a good way to work! #workathome #workfromhome #efficency #worklifeharmony

Our popular CVS Team Distance Challenge is back! Here teams of 5 colleagues compete to see who can go the farthest over a 4-week period. Prizes are awarded to the winning teams, for distances covered and for each of the challenges held. The competition runs from the 4-31 March. It’s open to all colleagues, at any fitness level. To take part colleagues just need to walk, run, swim, cycle or row as far as they can. Each discipline is weighted to give an overall score (e.g. 1km running is worth more than 1km cycling). The registration deadline is 1 March. Last year we had 128 teams with 612 competitors who travelled a total weighted distance of 155,157km, or around 96,410 miles, which is over 12 times round the earth! It’s a great way to get outdoors, get some exercise and enjoy the company of friends and colleagues. #cvsgroup #wellbeing [Visual description: A collage of images showing - a colleague standing next to a waterfall, two colleagues with their dogs next to the sea, and a colleague doing a 'plank' with a dog sitting on her back]

Road cycling: My perfect balance to hectic work. There's nothing quite like the rush of wind and the rhythm of pedals to clear the mind after a long day at the office. For me, road biking isn't just exercise—it's a metaphor for life and leadership. Why I love it: ⚖️ Work-life balance: Cycling helps me decompress and recharge, providing the perfect counterpoint to my work. 🔁 Rotating leadership: In group rides, we take turns leading the pack, breaking the wind for others. It's a constant dance of give-and-take, much like effective teamwork in the office. 💎 Shared goals: Whether it's conquering a tough climb or completing a long ride, we achieve more together than we ever could alone. 🔥 Continuous improvement: Every ride is a chance to push my limits, both physically and mentally.
