Robustness Tokens: Towards Adversarial Robustness of Transformers Foundation Models are known to be subject to adversarial attacks. In our recent ECCV 2024 paper, we explore a novel approach to enhance adversarial robustness by creating learnable secrecy in the form of additional tokens, called Robustness Tokens. These tokens are fine-tuned with minimal computational requirements and appended to the input, without modifying model parameters, adding an extra layer of security. Our results show significantly improved robustness of Vision Transformers to adversarial attacks while retaining performance in downstream tasks.
