😭 Y'all blew past my goal; so, I had to up the ante! Keep it coming! 💚 Depression is the leading cause of disability in the U.S. across age, sex, and ethnicity. Reducing stigmatic perspectives of mental health conditions is the first step to initiating revolutionary change and increasing access to effective care. Commending on or sharing this post is 1 way you can help reduce the stigma because #mentalhealthmatters
I am $65 away from reaching my fundraising goal for #NAMIWalks. With 23 days remaining until our biggest event of the year, can you pitch in? NAMI Greater Orlando provides free Mental Health education, support, and resources to our community. In 2023 we served more than 16,000 community members from students, law enforcement, and health care providers. With your help, we can reach even more in 2024. Author coaching for those brave enough to challenge the status quo | 21 Books & Counting | Award Winning Writer | Drinking Tea Down Rabbit Holes Daily
Right then folks! This is a gentle love nudge from me to all those who have expressed an interest in coming along to the #ManUp book launch in order to raise funds, awareness... And quite possibly some disruption in terms of the narrative of how men need to suck it up and hide their emotions 😉 I know we have almost 200 stating attendance on the LinkedIn event page, but we now need to make sure all those who want to come are on the list... because you know what they say... If you name is not down, you're not coming in (as opposed to me thinking the track said, "If you're name's not Dan, you're not coming in" - who knew? 😄 Obviously not me!) Some have asked about dress code. Well, after 7 years of dressing in clothes that need to dry quickly, roll up small and suit the world of sailing and travelling into the depths of goodness knows where, Yours truly now has a pair of heels and a lovely dress - even if I do say so myself! Some say it is an evening dress, for me it is simply a lovely floor length number which makes me feel really rather feminine! Steve says it is smart casual, so what we are basically saying is TURN UP AS YOU!! However that looks for you. We are partnering with Cooper Parry - the rebels of the finance world after all so if you are feeling a little rebellious and want to turn up in a Hawaiian shirt and shorts with your Havianas in May - or put on some slick threads, then rebel away! You'll get to eat, drink, network and listen to four very inspirational people, whilst also raising money and awareness for the Tough To Talk charity, so why would you not attend? Either way, here is the link to get your tickets and I'll see all those in attendance in just 9 DAYS TIME!!! https://lnkd.in/eA9qs2Dg #MENtalHealth #menmattertoo #breakthesilence #suicideprevention #authoractivism #intelligentactivism #breakingthestigma #mensmentalhealth

Today and every day, we want to remind everyone that it is always important to invest in our own mental health and stay connected with loved ones. Starting with a simple question, R U OK? Listening with an open mind, encouraging action, and offering support mean you could have a huge impact on someone’s life. 2Construct is proud to encourage honest conversations and contribute to building a culture where it’s OK to ask for help. For the third year in a row, we hosted a series of Tradies Health Month BBQ’s, bringing together our hardworking team to spread awareness about safety risks and mental health specific to tradies and raise important funds for R U OK? There are 365 days in a year. That's 365 opportunities to check in with someone in your world. If you notice a change, don't wait, ask R U OK? Any Day. Join Our Movember Team to Support Men's Mental Health and Suicide Prevention This year, I’m participating in Movember and putting together a team to raise awareness and funds for this important cause. It's especially meaningful for many of us in the OLE industry, following the tragic loss of a colleague earlier this year. The reality is that suicide remains one of the leading causes of death among young men, and yet it's a topic that often goes undiscussed. Movember is about more than just growing a moustache, it's about starting conversations and breaking the stigma around mental health. By speaking up, we can encourage those who are struggling to reach out, and we can be there for each other before it’s too late. I’d love for you to consider joining our Movember team or supporting the cause in any way you can. Whether it’s through growing a moustache, raising funds, or simply spreading awareness, every action helps spark the conversation. Feel free to join our team or donate using the link below, and please share this post to help spread the word. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e3gpaXf3 #Movember #MensMentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #GetTalking #MentalHealthMatters

Hey 👋 … let’s normalize something… Men's mental health is an essential yet often overlooked aspect of well-being. Society's traditional expectations of men to be stoic and unemotional can lead to a reluctance to seek help when facing mental health challenges. It's crucial to encourage open dialogue and support for men's mental health issues, as addressing these concerns can lead to happier, healthier lives. Men, like anyone else, deserve the opportunity to express their feelings, seek therapy, and find the support they need to navigate the complex landscape of mental health. Breaking the stigma surrounding men's mental health is a vital step toward improving overall well-being and fostering healthier, more fulfilling lives for everyone. This is why I am raising💰for Movember. Here is the link if you would like to donate 👇🏽👇🏽 https://lnkd.in/e2KqtUg8 (https://lnkd.in/e2KqtUg8)

As we approach the 6th anniversary of the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign, we’re reminded of how much can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. Our founder, Glenn Marsden, has united a collective of individuals passionate about changing the narrative around mental health. Together, we are showing that direct change for the people comes from the public, not the large organisations. In a world where we often hear about funding, royal commissions, and investigations following tragedies, it’s the public who consistently step up to provide direct help by go fund me donations and such. Despite significant funding for large organisations and ongoing research, the real impact is continuously showing its when communities unite to support those in need, help happens! It’s even more evident when leaders dedicated to mental health, like the former Chair of Mental Health Australia, step down and share their reasons why. This raises important questions about the effectiveness of traditional funding models. Let’s continue to be the change-makers, the ones who get help directly to those who need it most. Together, we can make a lasting impact. There needs to be active change in the Mental Health System because year after year we are seeing that it is broken. #mentalhealth #imperfectlyperfectcampaign #makeadifference #godswork #impact #globalmovement #together #public #community #sponsors

When it comes to push ups, you probably fall into one of two camps: 💪 Camp A - You love the opportunity to grow, show and flex your biceps. Push ups are a key part of your regular exercise regime and you love the way they help keep your arms/upper body toned and fit. #sunsoutgunsout 🌞 🙅♂️ Camp B - You'd rather die than do push ups. At Mipac (and Paradigm Engineers Pty Ltd), we've got 27 people and counting who have decided to challenge themselves this June by signing up to The Push-Up Challenge, raising money and awareness for mental health initiatives. This challenge involves completing 3,249 (!) push-ups (or alternative exercises) over 24 days from 5 June - 28 June 2024, representing the 3,249 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022. These legends include Akshay Kareliya, Stephen Smalley, Jeremy Huntley, Karen Eggington, Jessica Battersby, Dennis Grundel, Stephen Allan, Mark Regazzoli, Dominic Stoll, William Bevan, Tayah Reed, Cornel Pretorius, Virgilio Bay, Andrew Hislop, Mike Barrientos Penafiel, Brian Forrester, Elisabet Gurí Azogue, Eng. Sandro Cella, Jeandre Coetzer, Sunil Kumar Giri, Sam Sloss, Brandon Stewart, Duane Mach, Scott Stewart, Jake Minehan, Philip Siby Mathew and Pelden Chodon. ... No matter whether you're in Camp A or Camp B above (let us know if you think there's an in-between option - we have yet to encounter one!), we'd love it if you'd support our team members in this ambitious pursuit. By giving this post a 👍 - or even better, heading to the donation page (https://lnkd.in/gyr-vWzs) - you will encourage these amazing team members as they do their part to help those who need support. #teamchallenge #pushupchallenge #pushforbetter #mipac #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness
