Testing and training for COD should mimic game scenarios, considering the most common sequences of movements. For defenders, sharper turns and decelerations are key, while attackers focus on shallower turns and reactive strength. Well this escalated quickly. 😱😳🤣 I expected 5-10 replies but requests are coming in quicker than I can send a response so putting all the relevant info here for you all AND anyone who is interested. My post below 👇 comes from Rob Anderson and I working on areas of development specific to LTAD with Indian mentees and coaches over the last 12 months with Collaborats Sports. Doing so prompted my post because… The number 1 thing we see is lack of clarity on: "what does success look like" in practitioners respective LTAD environments. Everyone is either focusing on short term goals, or applying a certain programme or curriculum, WITHOUT considering the purpose of the LTAD programme. Is the end goal transfer from Academy to First Team and if so, what does that athlete physically (and behaviourly) look like? If it's a school system, is it education orientated and autonomy of choice for exercise and long term life benefits from physical activity? It's important to establish clarity here….
