Hello, my name is Frank Kitchen... Yes, my last name really is Kitchen. I’m known as the “Mindset Master Chef.” I’m a Husband, Father, Friend, Son, Brother, Volunteer, Professional Speaker and Author. I can do hard things! Earlier this year, I set three personal goals for 2024: 💬 Improve my Spanish 🎨 Make time for creativity 🍾 Earn another wine certification Last weekend, I completed the Comité Champagne Champagne Specialist course with Monika Bielka-Vescovi at the Napa Valley Wine Academy. I prepared since February, making flashcards and conducting my own practice tastings. Studying Champagne required me to engage different parts of my brain for retention and real-world application, similar to conducting a Demo or Client Onboarding meeting. To succeed, I reflected on past learning experiences and used three sales enablement techniques to prepare: 1. Create a strategy with milestones (due dates, practice test scores) 📆 2. Use diverse learning methods (WBT, YouTube, social media, flashcards) 🗂 3. Reward achievements (Champagne tastings!) 🥂 Applying sales training methods in my studies was an eye-opener. 🎉🎉Every now and then a book just captivates me. 📚 Will Guidara’s “Unreasonable Hospitality: The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect” did just that. I immediately bought a dozen copies for my team. It is my new book to share. Guidara artfully discusses thoughtful lessons collected in his drive to provide exceptional service at his award winning Michelin Star restaurants. It’s hard to pick my top three lessons from this book, but let’s give it a go. Lesson #1: The little things matter Guidara chased excellence in all he did, and he encouraged his team to do the same. He and his team spent hours on the little things to make the guest experience perfect and seamless. He goes on to discuss how you do one thing reflects on everything you do. It’s a great reminder to be intentional with everything we do. Lesson #2: Nobody knows what they’re doing before they do it. I love this because it’s so true. We all feel the uneasiness at some point when we start something new. It’s a great reminder. Lesson #3: Know why you’re work is important “You must be able to name to yourself why your work matters.” This really hit home. I really believe our purpose is to create a better life for people. Today, that’s done through building impactful places and connected communities. On good days and less good days, I often go back to this. 👉👉👉 Read this book. Give it to your team to read. Have your college kid read it. Give it to your intern and your CEO. It’s that good. #businessbooks #bookrecommendations #hospitality

Consider it a public service… 😂 Two years ago, my friends and I embarked on a serious scientific journey (with Bacardi in hand) to explore the wild world of homemade cocktails. What started as a college passion project—mixing everything from Jamun Shikanji to eggs—turned into a hilarious night filled with memorable experiments and some questionable decisions.
