1 year ago this week, I got laid off. I went to bed the night before absolutely certain I was getting laid off the next day, and told my husband. Sure enough, by 9AM I had "the meeting" on my calendar. My summer was spent applying, interviewing, and doing a lot of stress baking. But I also took the time to make sure I picked the right next step for me. One of the most important things for me was a company who had a target customer that I had emotional resonance with. I lucked out: I found a fantastic company with a great team. I'm not posting this as one of those self-promoting posts that are all too common on LinkedIn these days – I'm sharing because Collective is hiring for a lot of roles right now, with more to come. While we don't have a cute "ian" name for our team, we do have: - A remote-friendly workforce (even roles that are location-specific don't require daily office trips, unless you want that.) - Genuinely nice people to work with - A culture that values transparency, willing to try new things, and progress over perfection. I want to ask a question that many may avoid… Why are stay at home moms so overlooked in the job market? Why are they ignored for so many positions? As I have grown to know over 2,000 stay at home moms I have realized there are so many talents that they have to offer! We all know that remote work grew in the year 2020 across the U.S. which is perfect for stay at home moms. Moms are disciplined women with so much to offer. A lot of moms are desperate for jobs, so why not them? I ask this because I know so many companies are needing extra help with daily tasks or even needing full-time employees they can’t find the talent for. Let’s start warming up to the idea of hiring a SAHM mom!

PPS: Only 4 so far responded - I'll be looking out for their portfolio's because I appreciate the time these applicants have taken to invest in their chance of landing an interview. It's the little things!

What is a Great place to work? With a lot of thought given to this over the years both in working at other companies and at this one I've come to realize it is truly subjective. For me the answer is easy. My team, we just eff-in grind. Every member of this team at LSE Builders is 100% on board, bought in and focused on what is best for their teammates next to them. Not ourselves, OUR TEAM. Those who havn't lasted as long here have shared one thing in common. They all moved on to another team where their success was somewhat automatic. I.E. Receive task / Complete task / Repeat. There is nothing wrong with that. It fills a much needed role and it fits for many types of lifestyles. But our team expects nothing short of Legendary Action. We don't panic. We're committed to process driven management practices with measurable outputs. We take failure for what it is, a learning opp. The morale, our attitudes only get stronger when faced with adversity. Is it easy? NO Is it rewarding and awesome? Very Are we hiring? Hmm
