A: Being a role model for others around you and being someone that people can lean on in any situation. Whether that is an implementation of a new idea or just venting, leaders are dependable in any situation. Q: How long have you been a principal? A: This is my second year as associate principal. Q: When did you know you wanted to be a principal? A: I have thought about it for over ten years. I finally made the jump, and I wish I would have done it years ago. Q: What did you want to be when growing up? A: I wanted to be a teacher or work in the FBI/Secret Service. Q: What do you enjoy best about being a principal? A: Being there for staff and students to celebrate the success and work through the difficult times. Q: What was your first job...ever? A: I was a busboy at the Mississippian Restaurant near my hometown. Q: What was the first concert you attended? A: Goo-Goo Dolls and Lisa Loeb in 1995. Q: What would people never guess you do as a principal? A: Anything, mop a hallway, clean tables, whatever is needed for the people at school. Q: What superpower do you wish you had? A: The power to stop time; there is never enough time in a day.

Brockton (Mass.) #schoolboard members call for the National Guard to provide #schoolsecurity at their high school plauged by violence. This is the first that I have seen in more than three decades of #schoolsafety experience. #Schoolleaders should consider a comprehensive assessment of their schoolsecurity and emergency preparedness. They may also want to evaluate the school's leadership. How about School Resource Officers (#SROs) for a start? But if you really need the National Guard, your school board and #superintendents have a much bigger problem than just needing them as hall monitors and substitute teachers, as indicated in the below linked story.

Black students make up around a quarter of the city’s more than one million public-school pupils. However, Black instructors are disproportionately underrepresented among the faculty who teach them. I was fortunate enough to be able to hire them in assistant principal positions after mentoring them through school building leadership programs. Two of the 8 are principals during this 2023 National Principals Month, 1 Education Administrator and 4 Interim Acting Assistant Principals. October 29, 2023, is the 3rd anniversary of TheMister Falzone Nicholas Peter Falzone's death. They do this through direct services that include one-on-one support, informational events, leadership development opportunities, and community-based convenings and presentations. Their policy priorities align with issues identified by parent leaders in their network; their analysis of publicly available data related to education, census, and life outcomes; and strategic opportunities presented to K1C where parents are invited to the decision-making table on an emerging topic or issue of significance to education in Chicago.
