Frequentis renews military radar data network of the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) The development of MilRADNET began in 2004 and was conceived as a pioneering solution for the exchange and distribution of military flight surveillance and flight plan data. The new contract represents an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between Bundeswehr and Frequentis. MilRADNET was the first military radar data network in Germany. In the latest project, SDDS-NG (Surveillance Data Distribution System - Next Generation) will replace the predecessor system. This transition is an important step that will further improve the performance and effectiveness of surveillance data processing. In addition, the stability and scalability requirements resulting from new technologies and additional usage units for flight surveillance data can be met efficiently. The continuation of the MilRADNET project is a milestone in our long-standing cooperation. Billions are being poured into Electronic Warfare technologies globally. This is because one of the major challenges faced by modern military is to evade the detection and tracking of enemy radars. To achieve this, novel deceptive jamming technologies are being developed. These technologies will use a deceptive jamming model, which can operate in passive mode. This means that it does not emit any signals of its own, but instead modifies the signals received from the enemy radar. The deceptive jamming model interferes with the enemy radar signals and adds deceptive signals to them. The altered signals are then sent back to the enemy radar, creating confusion and disruption. The enemy radar, which is called a phased array radar (PAR), gets these signals and sees several false aircraft at different distances from the real aircraft, with changed and increased radial speed. The Forsvarsmateriell - Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency exercised a contract option to procure three additional TPY-4 radars from Lockheed Martin, bringing the new total to 11 of the ground-based multi-mission radars. The TPY-4, which has been coined “NATO’s eyes in the north”, also recently completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) confirming the radar design is meeting the program requirements. The TPY-4 radar system, a state-of-the-art multi-mission sensor, enhances the Forsvaret - Norwegian Armed Forces’s capability to detect, track, and classify aerial threats, providing critical situational awareness. “Lockheed Martin’s TPY-4 radars are crucial components of Norway’s defence and are the most suitable choice for supporting all-domain deterrence in the Nordic region,” said Chandra Marshall, Vice President Radar & Sensor Systems at Lockheed Martin. “The additional order and the completion of the CDR mark major steps forward, confirming that our radar meets the stringent requirements of NDMA and ensuring the security and sovereignty of Norway.” The relationship with Norwegian industry has been a critical element to the development of TPY-4. Lockheed Martin leveraged an extensive Norwegian supplier base making this program and other active international opportunities for TPY-4 a true U.S./Norwegian industry partnership. In particular, the relationship with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) resulted in the production of the first TPY-4 which included the Platform Electronics System (PES) built by KDA. Success for #ACCS during the NATO Exercise Poggio Dart 23 Two ACCS systems (A Combined Air Operations Center CARS and a Deployable Control Reporting Center DARS) were used to conduct the whole PODA23 exercise from computer assisted exercise to live planning/tasking to the execution of live operations. The DARS was interfaced with radars and over Tactical Data Links (L16 and JRE) exchanging real time information with CAOCs and Fighters and getting backlink information from these flying assets. Hanwha Defense Australia and Kongsberg Defence Australia (KDAu) recently celebrated the successful delivery of the first CORTEX C4 (Command, Control, Communications and Computers) systems, for installation into the first batch of AS9 and AS10 Huntsman family of vehicles being acquired under LAND 8116 Phase 1.   This includes the integration of tactical communication and related systems to ensure the Protected Mobile Fires capability is aligned with the Army’s C4 Force Structure and includes the transfer of technology from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace in Europe to KDAu.   Furthermore, the project includes integration of Australian Army's current fleet(s) of 155mm ammunition into AS9 and AS10, ensuring Joint Fires interoperability within the Joint Force and also with Coalition partners.   #ReadyReliableResponsive #HDAIsHereToStay #StrategicPartership #LandSystems
