Headwear #discrimination or unconscious bias in the #headwear industry? Can anyone truly look at the way this #hat is sitting on Te-Hina Paopao's hair and think "This is fine" ? This is not exclusive to the University of South Carolina. So what's the issue? The headwear industry has diversified in #culture over time. #Baseball caps are the center of #fashion, #sports, and #entertainment. The headwear industry has NOT diversified for #gender or #race. The baseball hat hasn't changed much since it's initial design for ⚪ men with short hair about 175 years ago. It's time we built the hats for who is wearing them instead of trying to fit everyone in the same hats because Representation Matters. Rosebloom Headwear 🌹 Hats for women. Hats for hair of all genders. #diversity #equity #inclusion

Beauty and Bravery: Redefining the Playing Field 💄🥇 Are you following the Olympics? Looking at the Olympics in Paris, they are definitely a breathtaking display of athleticism, pushing the boundaries of human potential (… just looking at Simone Biles and all the other fantastic athletes). While the world is captivated by record-breaking performances, there's another story unfolding on the field in the incredible city of Paris – one of self-expression, confidence, and individuality. Did you notice? It's undeniable: makeup, braiding and impressive hair styles have become an integral part of the athlete's toolkit. From subtle enhancements to really strong and bold statements, these powerful women - and also men - are using beauty as a form of armor. Their choice to wear makeup, creative braids or coloring their hair isn't about vanity, but about owning their individuality. It's time to challenge the outdated notion that women in sports must sacrifice femininity for athleticism. I for sure celebrate the athletes who dare to be different, who refuse to conform to stereotypes and show their individualism. Their makeup and impressive hairstyles isn't a distraction, but a declaration. It's a visual representation of their inner strength and determination. The next time you see an athlete with a touch of mascara, stylish nails or a pop of color, don't question their commitment. Instead, admire their courage to be authentically themselves. It's a victory off the field, just as important as any gold medal💄🥇. So, never stop being yourself and enjoy your day 😉, Nadine #beautyandsports #empowerment #individuality #olympics #confidence Copyright Pictures: Cosmopolitan_it (pictures seen on Instagram)

Just holding a hat that would never fit her 🤷♀️ You might never notice how badly headwear fits women and people with textured hair, locs, braids, or other protective hairstyles it until someone points it out... and then you can't unsee it. Headwear #discrimination. The WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) Draft focuses more on presenting the jersey than putting on the hat when players are drafted, but the tradition of giving a hat still holds. And Caitlin Clark is doing everything but putting on her Indiana Fever gear. But do they put them on? Nope. Just holding them. Pointing at them. Mimicking wearing them by holding them up to their head. But not wearing them. Why? Too big. Wrong fit for women. The hat material will damage their hair. The hats don't support their hairstyles. But the WNBA can only provide what the headwear industry provides to sell. It took 175 years, but Rosebloom Headwear answered the call. Inclusive Headwear: Hats made for women. Now this is the sweet spot I like... Forever women have been wearing an extra layer of innerwear to protect against chafing. Such a simple problem. Such a simple solution. Boxer briefs for women. Called Woxer In 3 lengths. Where were you all this while? Now, if only you can get that kind of a response for your product/brand and its #positioning. And if you need help with that... I'm here and on [email protected] #BrandStrategy #BrandPositioning

How can a win that looks this good for the Omaha Supernovas and the Pro Volleyball Federation be even better? Hats that fit. There should be no visible space between the hat and the head. Hats made for women. Women's skull structures are significantly different than men, yet we continue to subject fashion, function, and celebratory moments like the one below with a fit made for another gender. Where is the progression? Hats made for hair. Women. Have. Hair. The hats must protect hair and accommodate for the various styles, textures, and hair types. We can have badass women absolutely housing in a Professional Volleyball league, showing young women what grace, athleticism, and hard work looks like, but we tell them to celebrate with hats made for men. Huge partnership news today: K18 Hair announced Simone Biles as the new face of their brand. The strategic partnership is a massive opportunity for brand differentiation in the current state of the industry. Brand partnership with females athletes have been limited and, now, a collaboration of this magnitude likely indicates that female athletes will begin to get the attention, partnerships, and (hopefully) pay they deserve. Kudos to brands like K18 Hair and Glossier, Inc. who saw the opportunity to partner with and advocate for female athletes while expanding their brand reach in a new and novel way. I think we'll see a lot more female athletes in the beauty industry soon. And why shouldn't we? These are the women who use the products we pitch, market, and sell—and their influence spans continents. https://lnkd.in/gMKbqnwF

DRAFT DAY: Headwear Discrimination or Unconscious Bias? What happens at EVERY draft for EVERY sport? You're given a hat from your new team. The expectation is to put it on, right? Did the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) think that these ladies would just show up looking dowdy, ready to jam a hat on their head? Hell no. They spent a small fortune on their outfits, makeup, and.... HAIR. Now, I'm all about tradition. Hats are the the center of entertainment, sports, music, and culture. They are a physical and highly visible symbol, a flag even, for your representation. But... we are so far past due for an upgrade that represents WHO is wearing them and for the situations where they are being used, what they are representing. These hats should have been satin lined at the VERY LEAST, so the ladies would have felt more comfortable sliding them on and off for photos without having to think twice about messing up their hair. The craziest part of this? Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso *consciously* know the hats will mess up their hair but most likely, just like most everyone else, have never stopped to think there could be another solution, another way.... ...that there could be hats made for women or hats made for hair.
