- Imagine transforming functions across your company, from HR to customer service, marketing, and engineering. Imagine radically changing how work gets done. BCG's reshape play brings end-to-end transformation within reach. But if you think too small, you'll come up short. (bright music) When you reshape with AI, you'll reshape an entire function. You'll create higher ROI and find up to 50% more end-to-end efficiency. To reshape, you'll have to reimagine entire workflows, build new partnerships to access the latest tech, modernize your tech and data platform, and rethink the roles and skills that set up your employees for success. Transform a function and the changes can be big. For example, reshaping marketing means that you'll improve the way you create content from start to finish. You can use GenAI to generate first drafts of text, images, and video. You can translate content into dozens of languages and you can expedite the editing, review, and approval processes. The potential impact is huge. Creating a new campaign at minimal cost, shrinking the time it takes to create content from months to days, and allowing you to hyperpersonalize the experience for each individual. This isn't about tackling a single use case. This is about driving a much broader change. How can companies put the reshape play into motion? First, prepare to reshape a function. Choose which part of the company is right for transformation. Align leadership within the function on the need for change, and link the transformation to business outcomes like increased sales conversion. Next, redesign the work and pilot new solutions. Build AI and GenAI solutions to support new processes, launch pilots, and weave them into a new operating model. Finally, scale across the function. Roll out your tools, infrastructure, and new ways of working for every team. Make sure your employees are using AI responsibly, at the right time for the right tasks. Just like deploy, the reshape play is a people play. You need to drive behavioral change, not just by reskilling your employees, but by helping them see that GenAI is vital to their success. When it comes to understanding how employees cope during periods of change, leaders need to acknowledge both their employees’ anxiety and the inadequacy of relying too heavily on their own experiences. The best way to do that is by monitoring and measuring employee emotions—just as you track other business metrics. In her latest Forbes column, Boston Consulting Group (BCG)'s Julia Dhar, explains how doing so throughout the change process will provide leaders with the information and insights they need to fine-tune, or adjust the speed of the change program, maximizing cooperation and participation and increasing the likelihood of success.
