What's the importance of PURPOSE to you? What makes you feel a sense of BELONGING and trust in your company? Reflecting on the DE&I impact at J&J, being part of the Open & Out ERG as a mentee, and participating in many other ERGs (CREDO, WLI, Generation Now) since my first day at this company has given me the feeling that I'm in the right place that supports the values I truly believe in. Generally, we observe businesses focusing on products, outcomes, and financial matters, but once you're part of the story, it's crucial to have your own values 100% aligned with your company! You can find more details at this link and be delighted by these numbers! https://lnkd.in/dfd5hU_k #mycompany #jnj #esg #dei #jnjtech

President at Strum Agency | Expert in Market Strategy & New Market Entry | Passionate About Financial Innovation
🌍 ✈️ Balancing a demanding professional life with personal milestones can be challenging, but it's incredibly rewarding. Over the past week, I've traveled from Seattle to Boston to meet with a team member and catch up with extended family, up to Portland, Maine to speak at the first Arkalytics Summit, and down to Florida to cheer on my youngest daughter at the Youth Nationals Crew competition, where her boat finished an impressive 11th in the nation! 🚣♀️ Reflections on Balance & Team Support: 1) Balancing Act: - Finding time for both professional commitments and personal moments is key to a fulfilling life. Even with my busy schedule, I missed moving my oldest daughter out of her dorm after her first year at college and cherished time with my wife. - Celebrating my youngest daughter's achievement reminded me of the importance of being present for family milestones, despite a hectic professional life. 2) Strength of a Great Team: - Having a supportive and capable team is crucial for maintaining this balance. During my travels, knowing that my team had everything under control allowed me to focus on both work and family. - At Strum we pride ourselves on building a culture where teamwork and collaboration are at the forefront. This support system is what enables us to achieve our goals and excel in our projects. 3) Insights from the Arkatechture Summit: - Speaking at the summit was a highlight. I shared my knowledge on deposit strategies and share how Strum Platform has helped other credit unions. Our innovative solutions continue to drive success for credit unions, and you can learn more at Strum Platform. - The summit reinforced the idea that success in the professional realm often stems from strong, data-driven strategies and a united team effort. I don't know if there is such a thing as a healthy work-life balance, but I try. In this whirlwind of activities, I've been reminded of the importance of balancing work with personal life and the invaluable support of a great team. Let's connect and share our experiences on navigating these challenges and the value of strong team support. #Leadership #WorkLifeBalance #TeamSupport #CreditUnion #StrumPlatform #PersonalMilestones

Venturefest took an unexpected turn… I was so enlightened by the conversations on diversity in business and the challenges of raising capital that my initial game plan went right out the window. The plan was to show up, speak to new networks, and scout for potential attendees to my upcoming black property networking event. Secondly, I wanted to find out about the investment landscape of the West Midlands. Finally, I was eager to discover new, exciting, and innovative businesses in the region. I achieved two out of three of my goals, but I didn’t get as clear a picture of the investment landscape as I had planned. This was because I was so engrossed in the fantastic conversations about the businesses and how I can get a more diverse range of black people to my event from students to social housing developers that I chose to commit my full attention to learning about this topic. After speaking to some incredibly intelligent people, and watching the fascinating and inciteful panels, I was left with a mind full of important questions: How do we get young people to raise capital when they aren’t used to the methodology that venture firms use? How do we diversify the scope of our ideas when people in lower income areas, who my have the ideas for unicorns, can’t access the capital or teams to build businesses? How do we build a skills system that allows people to be trained in areas that we need for businesses, especially when the workplace, culture, and technology are changing so rapidly? How do we stop AI from having unethical biases based on human discrimination? (for example, recruitment systems that remove all female applicants because they have been trained on data which does not include women in leadership positions) #DiversityInBusiness #VentureCapital #Innovation #InclusiveLeadership #ventuefest

Investing in skills development not only keeps companies compliant but also strengthens their foundations - when growing talent through mentorship and skills initiatives, companies turn their workforce into valuable assets, driving growth and innovation. #BEE #Transformation #YouthEmpowerment
Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) is a powerful tool for transformation, and achieving targets is crucial. However, it shouldn’t stop there, maximising its impact requires a forward-thinking approach. At Signa Advisors, we see a missed opportunity when companies solely focus on compliance. The true focus should be on creating a lasting impact. By implementing a customised BEE strategy, you can: ✅ Exceed your targets through effective skills development programs focused on young South Africans. ✅ Invest in mentorship and career paths that empower young talent and contribute to a more inclusive workforce. ✅ Make a real difference in the lives of young people while achieving your BEE objectives. We can help you craft a strategic approach that delivers measurable results and empowers the next generation. [email protected] | +27 (0) 87 230 0329 #BEE #Transformation #YouthEmpowerment

I help purpose-driven companies bring their values, missions and purpose to life | Powerful introvert | Searching for brave minds to chat about climate change, poverty and inequality
I’m still buzzing from Action for Trustee Racial Diversity UK (ATRD) second in-person meetup! After two years with ATRD, it was incredible to be surrounded by so much passion, energy, and commitment to driving change. Key takeaways: ⭐ Diversity and Inclusion: It's crucial to raise awareness about the benefits of diverse leadership. ⭐ Support Systems: We must cultivate an inclusive culture that supports and encourages people of colour to pursue trusteeships, ensuring a robust pipeline for future leaders. ⭐ Charity Leadership: Encouraging charities to reach out to diverse networks and consider co-chairing models can strengthen collective leadership and attract a broader range of voices. ⭐ Tightrope Bias: I learned more about how women of colour often walk a fine line between assertiveness and likability, where stepping “out of place” can result in harsher judgment. This tightrope bias adds an extra layer of difficulty in leadership, and we must work to dismantle it. I’m excited about the next phase of ATRD and the work we’ll continue to do!
