It is important to match the technology to the use case rather than seeking one overall winner. Hydrogen will complement, not compete with, electric fuel systems across road and rail. It may play a part in rail, HGV and bus systems, where cost and access offers advantages over electric. The White House has released a national zero-emission freight corridor plan to guide medium- and heavy-duty truck charging and hydrogen fueling investments until 2040. Authored by the Joint Office of Transportation and Energy, the plan is meant to serve as a compass for public and private stakeholders to follow as charging and fueling infrastructure is built out along the National Highway Freight Network. Encouraging to see announcements like this. So much to do and so much can be done across industry regarding emissions and energy efficiency. Net Zero North West are strong advocates of industrial decarbonisation. Stable and clear policy and prioritisation of energy efficiency first, are just a couple of our manifesto focus areas, in our pursuit of a net zero future for the North West.

European Commission calls for improved long term hydrogen mobility financial support. By JOHN MAX The EU body’s Joint Research Centre is seeking to make fuel cell vehicles more competitive. The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) is advocating for strategic measures to accelerate the growth of hydrogen mobility. The JRC’s report was in favor of financial support for fuel cell vehicles The JRC’s 110-page report titled “Historical Analysts of Clean Hydrogen JU Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles, Buses and Refuelling Infrastructure Projects”, delves into the historical analysis of clean hydrogen mobility such as H2-fueled vehicles and infrastructure projects. The report argues that long-term subsidies or tax incentives are essential to overcome challenges from the operational cost disparity between hydrogen-powered vehicles, both on roads and buses, and their battery electric counterparts. https://lnkd.in/dD7T3rGs
