Chaos! Last year when we ventured to start our own entity it was full of Chaos! Obviously in the beginning we had good deal of information on what we wanted to accomplish, and we were quite clear on our Vision. However, the market uncertainties and initial failures kept knocking us back to the wall! The most important thing what as a startup we did is - we stopped seeking too much of clarity of the situation and started giving our commitment to make things work! We learnt it in our way that "Chaos and Uncertainty are best friends of a Startup!" Which will make us thrive hard and give our best to excel in our goals! Who would have thought that - The idea which started on a causal coffee break! The plan which was jotted on a dinner table paper napkin! And the team who stood with me for a decade through the thick and the thin! All put together builds an entity and here we stand tall at the first milestone celebrating the First birthday of our baby – “Agnile Technologies”! Amazing! It was an action-packed year, nothing less than raising a baby where each moment was filled with surprises! every small stuff made us to feel the joy and every tiny hurdle made us to feel like climbing a mountain! But what we enjoyed the most is ‘The Journey Of Raising An Organisation!’ Now, at the end of year ONE! When I recap what we achieved? Our both verticals ‘Product House’ and ‘Service House’ are doing extremely great and It’s really satisfying as these accomplishments were done when the market is facing severe headwind with various Geopolitical & Technological uncertainties! We were positive in using the headwind and steering our organization to takeoff! Now it’s time to convert the startup into a scaleup! ‘Get to work early, work hard, and smile’   Our Driver Sakaria Hangula is next in line for a Long-term Service Award at Pupkewitz Megabuild. He has been loyal to Megabuild for 15 years. Our clients in Lüderitz and Oshakati know Hangula very well.  He is dedicated to his vehicle, checking it daily for any knicks, bumps or scratches and ensuring that it is spick and span for the next day’s loads, before he goes home. And the next day? He knows how to negotiate traffic to ensure he gets the Order on time, to where it should be. “Speedy deliveries and accuracy are important, as is safety. This is why clients ask that I bring their Order because they know it’s coming when they expect it. I don’t like complaints.” A down-to-earth man, Hangula says Pupkewitz Megabuild allows him to care for his family and, one day, when he hands over the keys to his delivery vehicle, his dream is to farm a piece of land. “That is still on the table. Retirement is nothing but a number. I am strong and fit. But if I can add another dream, it will be to see all my children graduate from Unam which is right there on the horizon because my last-born is a second-year Unam student.” For those who are yet to enter the working world, Hangula says it is critically important that young people, when they are employed, apply to, and stick to the systems. In his case, it’s the documentation. “Make sure your paperwork is in place. And your load corresponds.” And the most important of them all? “If you start work at 08:00, be there at 07:30. #TeamEmployment helped Father Christmas with his Employment related queries a lot last week! However, it seems that Father Christmas has another headache. An elf called Cinnamon Icicleberry is far behind her target for toy making and the quality of her present wrapping is not up to scratch. Father Christmas wants to know what the main stages of a formal capability process are: 1.      Initially, follow S.A.N.T.A Ltd’s written capability procedure. This should be within the ‘Elf Staff Handbook’ but if it isn’t, and there isn’t one in place, Father Christmas should follow the process below. 2.      Conduct an initial assessment or investigation into Cinnamon’s performance and allow her the opportunity to respond to the findings. 3.      Invite Cinnamon to a capability meeting – this will be to clarify the standard that is expected of her, allow her to ask questions, establish possible reasons for her poor performance, determine what can be done to improve her performance (training, etc), set targets and a timescale. 4.      If Father Christmas continues to be disappointed with Cinnamon’s performance, then warnings can be issued, first verbally and then written. 5.      A further review period should be implemented, further capability meetings and final warnings. 6.      Appeals – Cinnamon has the right to appeal each decision or warning given An alternative could just be to offer Cinnamon a settlement to avoid the need for the formal capability procedure, but this will be at S.A.N.T.A Ltd’s discretion.
