Even with an influx of traffic, incidents on Government Street have dropped significantly. This data comes from a recently released Substack post from BRAC Manager of Economic and Policy Research Jake Polanksy. This post highlights how the completion of roads and more approval on development projects could improve key corridors in the Capital Region. With emerging data like this, another success story about Baton Rouge is being created right before us. As road improvements and development projects continue to keep our region on the rise, residents can expect corridors like Government Street to be more attractive and have accessibility to more forms of transportation like walking, biking, and public transit. I thought that removing the four lanes and redesigning it into the current configuration was going to be a nightmare and it is actually just the opposite. Government Street has never been so nice to drive down.
