How important is a proper delivery experience to both the buyer/renter, and the dealership? You tell me. Witnessed this one today in SWFL. - Customer unable to operate controls - Customer turns new McLaren off to order - Customer bangs rev-limiter in panic (luckily not in gear) - Customer blames passenger - Customer drops coins into body - Customer feebly attempts to operate top - Customer last seen driving southbound with top in some sort of half-operational manner. “Let me take a few minutes to show you the operational features of this gorgeous new McLaren, sir.” “I’m good! Training sounds like a "Dirty word" if there currently is none. Or if the approach is to train like we did in the 80's, 90's and 00's. Just because those methods are outdated and not as effective doesn't mean we just stop trying altogether. This is a great article that speaks about Creating that Culture of Learning and Development in the dealership!
The work that state and local associations like Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association and New York State Automobile Dealers Association is essential to keep the thousands of car dealerships educated and compliant. I know this first hand due to the partnership I experienced while working for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Academy.
