I can finally talk about cinch Store 👀 The golden rule is to always disrupt yourself before someone comes along to disrupt you. We disrupted the traditional bricks and mortar used car business (alongside our now departed competitor, Cazoo) and now we're disrupting ourself, by opening our first physical store locations. Not including the stores themselves, which look ace, we've treated this as a proper lean MVP, so we could go live as quickly as possible (we actually beat the shop-fitters to getting everything live and tested end-to-end in Production 😎). It's been a herculean effort to scope, design, build and test this in such a short amount of time. But it's also been a testament to the incredible people who work across all of our Tribes, in tech and design, that they've made this look easy (Ops too, but they can make their own post 😉). This post would be ridiculously long if I tagged everyone who's worked so hard, but I would like to tag a few key players in or attached to my teams who I've witnessed working heroically to get cinchStore over the line. First and foremost Kieran O'Connor, newly (deservedly, finally!) promoted to Head Of Product at Marshall Motor Group, who, frankly, made this happen. I've not met many people who could've owned this so doggedly from day 1 and made it a reality. You are a force. And I know how much you hate to be complimented in a public forum ❤️ Martin Sinclair, who picked up the mantle and delivered everything either in flight or left to do to get the MVP done, and who already has a backlog of ideas as long as several arms to make this a success. No joke picking this up on day 1 of moving to cinch, and yet you've made it look BAU. Ian Pringle, long suffering Tech Lead to both of the above. Your insight, understanding, and capability made this happen quicker than it should have. Alex Huyton, Annette McGranaghan, Claire Worswick, Erin Cole, Aaron Cort whirlwinds of activity, driving it all forwards, and making it look as easy as anything else we've tried to do (perhaps even easier?).
