The radioembolization procedure reduces tumor size while patients wait for their turn on the transplant list. This minimally invasive intervention, known as Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT) or Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE), involves injecting radioactively labeled microbeads selectively into the tumor-feeding arteries. Due to their small size (15-30 µm), TARE particles typically do not cause significant embolism. The procedure is non-surgical, enabling patients to be discharged just a day after treatment. Kinepict is poised to assist Dr. András Bibok and his team by providing images at reduced doses.
