It's National Volunteers Week so here's a little story for you.... One of my voluntary roles is the dream job of being Team Manager for my youngest son's rugby team (Pentyrch RFC Under 8s - soon to be Under 9s) One of our coaches got some great raffle prizes for us (a kicking session with Jonny Wilkinson) to raise money for our first tour next year.... I knew Raffall was an online raffle platform as I'd bought tickets on there previously, so I started setting up the raffle but wasn't enjoying the experience, it was a bit clunky... I google'd something like 'Raffall alternatives' and came across Raffaly - a new alternative with ✅ cheaper fees (great for charities where every penny counts!) ✅ guest checkout (making it much easier to buy raffle tickets - higher conversion and sales) Unfortunately I hit some stumbling blocks and page errors. I was on a hard deadline to get the raffle live as I was going on holiday the next day, so I put it live on Raffall but I emailed my bugs and feedback to Raffaly. The founder Liam Walder emailed me back the next day, he'd fixed all the bugs I'd found and thanked me for letting him know.... So, in summary: 1 - You might not have the desire, or time, to volunteer.... 2 - But you can still do good by helping new/small businesses grow by giving them free feedback on your experience and/or sharing them with others - Kindness helps the world go round! 3 - if you'd like to buy raffle tickets to support our team I'd be super grateful (link in original post that I've shared!) #VolunteersWeek #NationalVolunteersWeek #Raffle #RugbyIsLife #RugbyFamily ________________________________________________________________ I'm Heledd and I offer: 🤩 Fractional and Interim Marketing Leadership and Support 🤩 Marketing auditing and consultancy, especially on the Digital Marketing Side 🤩 Training, coaching and mentoring
https://lnkd.in/eJejXY2a We are raising funds for Pentyrch (soon to be) U9s and their first rugby tour this year. As a proud coach of this fabulous bunch of kids, I would like to thank Attivo and Stephen Harper for the support with our fund raising and the generous donations of raffle prizes. If anyone can spare £2.50 for a ticket, us coaches can give all the rugby mums and dads in Pentyrch a night off while we take the guys and girls on tour!

When school fundraising is more than selling chocolates.............(thank you God) Mattea's school - Bradfield College at St Leonards is having a raffle to raise much needed funds. There are some amazing prizes (see the link below) and tickets are only $10 each or you can buy packs of 5 or 10 at a reduced cost. And the good news is.............I have donated 2 coaching sessions and a Clifton Strengths Finder all 34 as a prize. If you would like to take a bet on something that gives you more chances of winning than lotto (the first division prize your chances are 1 in 3,575,880) then invest $10 for an excellent cause and a much better opportunity to win some really good prizes including coaching sessions with me. I would love it if one of my LinkedIn contacts or my clients won this. #strengthbaseddevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #emotionalintelligence #investincommunity

https://lnkd.in/eChshjxm "Networking" can certainly be overdone. But the desire to "go it alone" is a perilous decision as a leader. We must each find a group of people who we respect, with individuals who are both further along and farther back - and invest. They don't need to be our best friends, they can even be our competitors, but a consistent relationship with people in the same space, who are running the same direction will - 10 times out of 10 - help us run farther and faster. #leadership #networking #community #united #nonprofit #healthyleadership #together #mission #organizationalhealth #personalgrowth #buildasnowball

A summary: Notes from February 2024 Meeting of League of the Descendants of the Enslaved at Mount Vernon (The League) Documentary titled "Enjoy Your Visit?" In our February general meeting of League members, a documentary titled "Enjoy Your Visit?" was discussed, aiming to explore tensions at Mount Vernon over slavery and its representation. The documentary’s producer, Merle Augustin and Emmy award winning writer / director Erin Cramer were introduced to members. Funding for the project is being sought through various means, including in-kind contributions, grants from foundations, and companies in the US and Europe. The film aims to raise awareness of the true history of the enslaved at Mount Vernon and the challenges faced by their ancestors. Engaging with historical preservation groups Second, Shawn Halifax, Executive Director of Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House provided an update on discussions with historical preservation groups to gain support for organizations representing the enslaved and their communities. It was agreed to work together to support the League and other groups, with a scheduled first meeting to build trust and relationships. Chairman’s update Additionally, I provided an update on the submission of a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to Mount Vernon for consideration and input, as well as an invitation for League members to participate in a panel at the George Washington Training Institute in July 2024. An update on the 501(c)3 non-profit status was also shared. Launch of League Website Finally, the League's website (https://lnkd.in/dwkRr7E6) was demonstrated and launched, providing a platform for members to share their families' content. The website includes a public calendar featuring general meetings and events, and only verified members can access specific Members Only Family and League content. Next Meeting The next meeting will focus on League plans for 2024 and 2025, including steps for a face-to-face meeting of descendants and a potential conference/seminar, as well as developing different types and costs for League membership. #TheLeague #MountVernon #blackhistory #History #CommunityEngagement #EnslavedHistory #MuseumUpdates

I Will Help Your Business uncover at Least $50,000 in Revenue in Just 50 Minutes, Guaranteed Without Gimmicks or Advertising
There is a huge fund-raiser, at one time the largest single fundraiser they did, for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the U.S. called the Texas MS-150 Bike Tour. Each April, 13,000 riders and even more support staff move a small city from Houston once to Austin, Texas, and now to College Station, Texas. At roughly 60 miles, or about 2/3 of the way on the first day, when you’re tired and weak, the journey seems much longer than you imagined or trained for, and you have less left in your physical tank than you thought…along comes the town of Fayetteville, Texas. If you know what’s coming next, you know it’s truly an awesome (not overstated) experience. If you don’t know what’s next, it will change your world. As you ride into town headed west down the Main Street and Highway, you see a few older buildings and homes up ahead like many small towns. Then you hear it, and soon you see it. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of people lining the side of the road yelling, screaming, cheering, singing, dancing to the music. Suddenly, you realize it’s YOU they are doing this for. This is a calculated effort by the town and the County to spur tourism, and they are sure to include information about Fayetteville and Fayette County in your MS-150 Information Packet. But for the riders, the feeling is indescribable. You suddenly feel like you can accomplish ANYTHING, and you don’t care that they are doing this for everyone…not just you, because that doesn’t matter. It’s here when you need it the most. I tried to put together two videos to do some justice to what this journey looks and feels like. The first is mine, shot with a poor-quality phone in 2006. The second is “borrowed” from someone named Michael Weekley in 2017 (link is below). Maybe with these, you can try and catch just a tiny glimpse of how special this is and why I’m getting a little misty just writing about it and watching the ride again. I’m not sure if the town of Fayetteville still does this, but may God Bless you all for doing it at all, and for so many years. When you’re near the end of things, and it’s not going as well as you would like, and you are down and discouraged…Think of Fayetteville, watch this a few times, and remember someone is cheering you on that you didn’t know about or see coming until it’s all around you, just waiting for you to look up and take it in. Head of Comms/PR/Comms Director (ex-Barclays, Reach/Trinity Mirror, Carphone Warehouse) | Reputation, issues & crisis, purpose, change | Multi-sector high-profile FTSE plc experience
Twickenham is no more as Allianz takes over naming rights?!?! I'm sorry but this is possibly one of the worst sponsorship decisions I've ever seen, even (more so!) for Allianz! Twickenham is iconic: "HQ", "the home of rugby", it's the world's biggest rugby stadium, a historic ground that goes back well over 100 years. It's a name known not just throughout English or even world rugby, but throughout the population. A day at Twickenham is an experience that appeals to casual sports fans and even those who aren't into sport. There's endless invaluable brand value and recognition tied up in that. There are numerous Allianz stadiums already. Rugby desperately needs to bring corporate money in to save the sport we love, as it struggles more than ever with financial pressures. But a corporation having the arrogance to use that desperation to insist on erasing a name that is at the heart of English rugby really feels like holding the RFU over a barrel. It screams disrespect and feels grubby from Allianz Insurance. The arrogance and short-sightedness of "our terms or stick it" aggression (which feels like it's not doing much to rehabilitate the perception of the finance sector either). I know brands need to feel they're getting the max ROI for their money. However, I would have liked to have thought a company of Allianz 's size and experience in sports sponsorship would have a little more imagination and PR sense in how to do that appropriately, understanding the culture of the sport you are shoehorning yourself into. Obviously no one will ever ever ever use the phrase "Allianz stadium", apart from the media who will be contractually obliged to (and no doubt will be washing their mouths out with bleach immediately afterwards) so it's hard to really see what they're gaining from kicking off a major sponsorship deal by having hundreds of thousands of fans hating them. I'm not against naming rights in sport at all - it's been an essential lifeline for many clubs across different sports - but it needs to respect the history of the ground when that's significant. In those circumstances, adding a brand name onto an existing name, at most. "Allianz Twickenham" would have worked better and even given extra value to Allianz through the direct word association with the Twickenham brand qualities - history, credibility, quality. It's ironic that Allianz, while claiming to have the community and grassroots of rugby as it's priority, is demonstrating that it actually has no understanding or respect for the game at all and a focus on nothing but their leadership's ego. There was an opportunity here for Allianz to be praised as a saviour of English rugby, instead, I'm seeing rugby fans saying "anyone but Allianz" as a result of this. What a way to make sure your big deal gets tackled to the ground before it's anywhere near the try line! #sponsorship #sport #sportsponsorship #Twickenham #Allianz #AllianzInsurance England Rugby
We’re delighted to announce that the home of England Rugby, Twickenham, will become Allianz Stadium in September! This marks the next chapter of our partnership with England Rugby and will see significant investment into the game at all levels, including the brand new Allianz Future Fund, offering grants to community rugby clubs across the country. The partnership will be transformative, not only to the elite men’s and women’s teams but will also offer significant support to the grassroots game. We can’t wait for kick off!
