AI will change internet => from point and click to no-UI ask and interact to on-demand UI Robotics will change factories => less people more machines operating machines AR/VR will change content entertainment => from image and video to ever more immersive Each of those will combine to create incredible disruption, from remote work, to housing, and mobility, and eventually how cities are designed.. If you didn’t believe it in pre-COVID era, just look at the massive evolution of each in the last three years.. The big question is, what shall we do when the machines can do a better job than most of us in most industries? And what impact it’ll have on the economy and the population? #artificialintelligence #robotics #mixedreality #disruption #future

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend #ces2024 and see firsthand the exciting tech trends for the year ahead. Here are 3 key things that caught my attention: AI's Everywhere, Seriously! Remember the #ai buzz in 2023? It's not slowing down. At #ces , AI was in everything – from kitchen gadgets to cars with ChatGPT. But something to watch out for is the Rabbit 1. It's a $200 gadget that's like carrying your AI buddy. It has a screen, speaker, mic, and camera. You can ask anything and get answers right away. But it's not just about the gadget itself; it's the AI behind it that's impressive. It’s powered by a custom-trained Large Action Model (LAM) that can complete tasks on behalf of users. One of the demos showcased had the model learning how to use Mid-Journey just by observing a user interact with the tool from the browser through a screen recording. This personal AI trend seems like it will be the next leap for LLMs this year. Personal Robotics Another evident trend was the mainstream adoption of AI-powered autonomous robots, especially in the domain of personal robot assistants for the home. #samsung and #amazon both showcased their Ballie and Moxie robots respectively. Looking at the rapid progress the team at #tesla is making with Optimus One, the trend towards personal robotics for homes is gaining momentum, pointing towards possible mainstream adoption sooner than we may have expected. AR/VR Getting Real(ly Cool) The AR/VR sector is poised for significant growth, particularly in consumer markets. This was clear at CES, with exciting developments in more affordable AR/VR devices but in my opinion, Xreal had the most impressive high-quality devices. As we anticipate the release of #applevisionpro, it's shaping up to be a landmark year for AR/VR technology. The event was a showcase of incredible tech innovations, but these three stood out to me. I'm eager to see how they develop. Which one has you the most excited?

🚀 Teleoperation Breakthrough: Control Robots from thousands of miles away with Open-TeleVision 🚀 Researchers at UC San Diego and Massachusetts Institute of Technology led by Xuxin Cheng & Jialong Li released Open-TeleVision, an open-source tele-op system allowing users to control robots from virtually anywhere. Traditional tele-op systems often suffer from limited perception and require physical proximity. Open-TeleVision uses VR for a, stereoscopic view from the robot's perspective. How It Works🤔❓ 📷Active Stereo RGB Camera: Mounted on the robot to tracks and replicate the operator's head movements for a synchronized, stereoscopic view. ⚙️Data Transmission: Lifelike visual feedback loops are created by transmitting visual data to the operator's VR headset. 🦾Motion Capture and Replication: The operator's arm & hand movements are captured and translated into precise robotic actions. 🎓Learning Capabilities: The system records high-quality data of successful & unsuccessful attempts, useful for for imitation learning. This opens up potential possibilities in health care (think surgical robots) and others. The ability to provide high-quality data for imitation learning also paves the way for more intelligent and autonomous robotic systems. Awesome stuff Xuxin Cheng, Shiqi Yang, Ge Yang, Xiaolong Wang 👉 Follow Robotics & Business page for more updates on the latest in #robotics and #automation! 👍 Like and reshare this if you find this development exciting too! #day18 of #50daysofML 💡 Excited to learn about You Only Look Once (YOLO) and its applications? Let's explore how YOLO is revolutionizing object detection in real-time! YOU ONLY LOOK ONCE (YOLO) AND ITS APPLICATIONS 📌 You Only Look Once (YOLO) is a state-of-the-art object detection algorithm that can detect multiple objects in images or video frames with remarkable speed and accuracy. 📌 YOLO operates by dividing the input image into a grid and predicting bounding boxes and class probabilities for objects within each grid cell, enabling real-time object detection on a single pass through the network. Key Features of YOLO: 💡 Single Pass Inference: YOLO processes the entire image or video frame in a single forward pass through the network, making it significantly faster than traditional object detection methods that require multiple passes. 💡 Unified Detection Framework: Unlike earlier methods that relied on separate region proposal networks and object classifiers, YOLO performs object localization and classification simultaneously, resulting in faster inference and improved accuracy. 💡 Anchor Boxes: YOLO utilizes anchor boxes to predict bounding boxes of various sizes and aspect ratios, allowing it to detect objects of different shapes and sizes within the same grid cell. Applications of YOLO: 🔍 Real-Time Object Detection: YOLO is widely used in applications requiring real-time object detection, such as autonomous driving, surveillance systems, and augmented reality. 🔍 Video Analysis and Monitoring: YOLO can analyze video streams in real-time, enabling applications like video surveillance, traffic monitoring, and crowd counting with high efficiency and accuracy. 🔍 Robotics and Automation: YOLO is employed in robotics and automation tasks, including object tracking, robotic navigation, and industrial inspection, where real-time object detection is critical for safe and efficient operation. 🔍 Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality: YOLO powers augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications by enabling real-time object recognition and interaction in immersive environments, enhancing user experiences and interactions. 📌 You Only Look Once (YOLO) is transforming the landscape of computer vision and object detection, with applications spanning diverse industries and domains. Where YOLO is used? 🔍 Autonomous Driving for pedestrian and vehicle detection 🔍 Surveillance Systems for object tracking and intruder detection 🔍 Augmented Reality for object recognition and interaction 🔍 Industrial Automation for quality control and object inspection #datascience #pythonprogramming #yolo #objectdetection #computervision #augmentedreality
