B&B Wrecking & Excavating, Inc.’s Post

Here at B&B Wrecking & Excavating, Inc. we try to get the youth involved and interested in the field of Demolition as much as we can. In this video, young Parker was able to "help" detonate and watch this stack come to the ground for his first ever detonation. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 We hope that this memory lasts forever in his mind and perhaps in the future we can help more kids make this memory for themselves! 😎 #kidsfirst #demolition #onthejob

if the adults at the jobsite are wearing PPE, shouldn't the child also be wearing PPE?

My father let me do this when I was about 6 years old at Tamworth power station in NSW Australia. I’ve been hooked ever since and it lead me on the path to follow in my fathers footsteps in the demolition industry. Now at 51 years old, I can’t pass a large structure without trying to figure out the best way to drop it. Congrats little man, love your work.

Awesome!! Being this a learning experience I suggest next time get young Parker the necessary PPE. It is clear to me that he was not in range to be hurt, but involving him in the operation should include the use of safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, safety vest. It will be engraved in his mind and will be second nature when he join work in the field. It is not negative criticism, it is to say I love the teaching experience, adding the “cosmetic” in this case, but essential dress code for the trade will seal the deal. In my opinion.

Great job. I rode along with my dad to plants long before I was at the "proper" age. It is why I'm in the industry today.

It looks funny…but it is nothing for kids. It is much more as the blasting expert hopefully knows - and we see how perfect he did the job 👍.

Such a bad memory lasting for ever is a very bad idea.. it's like remembering a nightmare daily or weekly. It's destructive, not constructive.  His reactions tell a ton about how bad he felt, as though he committed a blunder.  Presenting it visually and climing it as a pride are height of insanity.
