From a new Cross-Border-M&A report put out by Mergermarket and Dentons: According to their large pool of respondents consisting of PE fund managers w/ AUM > $250MM, at this point, "Western Europe is the most appealing region in the world for buy-side cross-border M&A activity [ ], followed at some distance by the US [ ] . . . . Conversely, the least appealing region is thought to be China" presumably due to unexpected regulatory hindrances and other headwinds. There appears to be broad cautious optimism for 2024, with focus on acquiring IP and expanding into new markets -- and of course, on the global macroeconomic front, attention to interest-rate / inflation risk. Also, TMT remains hot, hot, hot.
