Today is the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which forever changed our world and our nation. I vividly recall being a junior at Wakefield High School in weight training class when Coach Rivers walked in and turned on the television. We were shocked and horrified as the events unfolded. That day set me on a path that led to ten years of military service, including multiple combat deployments, followed by three years as a contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan, supporting special operations forces. We were part of the effort to confront the groups behind the attacks, and the battle that ensued shaped so much of my life. As I reflect on that day and its long-term consequences, I remember not only those who tragically died, but also the thousands of men and women who sought justice in the aftermath. However, in our pursuit of justice, I recognize the difficult reality that we have harmed many others along the way. This realization motivates me in my current work as a political violence expert focused on the United States and bridging the divides that threaten our nation. On this day, we remember. Not only are lives lost, but there is an indelible mark left on our collective soul. We must work together to create a future in which everyone is valued and we are no longer plagued by terrorism and violence, regardless of ideology. Why does work matter when we're at war??? When more than 130 innocent people have been held hostage by terrorists for more than 130 days, does it really matter if our customers don't renew their subscriptions? When brave young people are sacrificing their lives to defend our nation against terrorist attacks, does it really matter if we don't hit our quarterly targets? When tens of thousands of families have been displaced from their homes, does it really matter if we don't meet our filing deadlines? The answer is yes - it still matters. If anything it matters more than before. If we don't keep the economy alive through this horrific period then what will become of the future that we are fighting to defend? The primary fronts in this war against terrorism are the military front and the home front and we must continue to support the people most directly impacted in any ways that we can. But those of us fortunate enough to be less directly impacted must also do everything that we can on one of the many secondary fronts. To name a few examples, there is a social media front, there is a legal front, and there is certainly a financial front. Last night it was a privilege to send public the record financial results achieved by Similarweb in 2023.The fact that we achieved record results both quarterly and annually despite the immensely challenging circumstances tells me everything I need to know about Israeli grit and determination. And I'm incredibly grateful and proud of my own team for supporting each other through this unprecedented period and ensuring that we could report these record results in record time. We continue to pray that all of the hostages will be rescued immediately and that all of our brave young heroes can come home soon and safely. And we continue to work hard on their behalf, to keep the economy alive and to create a better future for us all.

 America Remembers 9/11 The US will recognize the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks today, with several memorials being held around the country. In New York City, families will gather at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza to read aloud the names of the thousands of victims killed, followed by the annual Tribute in Light ceremony.    The day is the deadliest terrorist attack in US history, with 2,977 people directly killed—2,606 in the World Trade Center, 246 across four hijacked planes, and 125 at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The remains of roughly 40% of the victims have not yet been identified. Over 25,000 people were injured in the aftermath, many suffering long-term health consequences from toxic contaminants and trauma.    The attacks caused protracted wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, which ended in 2021 and 2011, respectively. Roughly 15,000 US troops and contractors were killed across post-9/11 missions, with estimates projecting a total combined cost exceeding $3T, with interest on the debt used to finance operations reaching $6.5T by 2050.
