Rain or shine, Vanilla UAS pushes the boundaries of long-endurance flight! Numerous flight events demonstrate Vanilla’s resilience and ability to operate in harsh conditions. At the OUSD(R&E) TREX 23-2 event, anticipated storms were on track to derail exercise test objectives. Seeing forecasts, Vanilla launched 24-hours ahead of schedule and flew through the storms, and the event. Later, while flying in USINDOPACOM’s Valiant Shield 24 exercise, Vanilla flew through heavy winds and rain to maintain communications relay coverage for the exercise. Our pilots watched as Vanilla gained and lost 1,000ft in altitude in seconds, over the course of several hours before returning and landing safely in Guam. That flight resulted in Vanilla providing record-breaking Link-16 coverage for our Army customers. Formal testing confirms Vanilla's ability to operate in static rainfall rates up to 1 inch per hour.
