🌟 "Health and Wellbeing for the Whole Family" 🌟 At a recent event hosted by AVANCE-North Texas, Monserrat and other speakers discussed vital topics such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Mental Health First Aid, and the importance of maintaining mental health. They explored protective factors outlined by the CDC and how programs like PCEP, FBC, and HOPES are making a significant impact. AVANCE thanks all the PCEP families who actively participated with questions and comments. Together, we are learning to combat the stigma associated with mental health, understand the negative impact of ACEs, and appreciate the protective factors. 🌱 We hope these discussions continue to light the path to a healthier future for our families, reinforcing the positive impact of our two-generation approach. Thank you for being part of this journey towards well-being! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

Today is International Men's Day, and we want to take a moment to reflect on the discussions we had this past week on the important topic of 'Zero Male Suicide.' #PreventingSuicide #ZeroMaleSuicide #internationalmensday
It's International Men's Day! Over the past week, our community participated in a series of impactful seminars centred around the crucial theme of 'Zero Male Suicide' in honour of International Men's Day. See some of the highlights from our sessions. We had a series of speakers from Help for Heroes, Andy’s Man Club, Andries Pretorius and a Talk Club session held by two of our SJP Mental Health First Aiders. “The Wellbeing webinar, with Andries Pretorius, was really powerful. His story moved me, and his focus on building mental resilience through nutrition is something I’ve never properly considered, but feels pretty life changing. When we’re talking about #PreventingSuicide, I feel I gained some vital tools, which I will be sharing with my husband, sons and friends.” "Such a powerful session, it really hit home, and it was so useful to come away with some simple, practical steps that everyone can take to support their mental and physical well-being" #IMD #InternationalMensDay

This week marks an incredibly important event on the mental health calendar - #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Now more than ever, it's vital that we shine a light on the importance of children and young people's #MentalHealth. We live in a world that is increasingly stressful and anxiety-inducing. Our kids are dealing with challenges that are unique to their generational experience. From navigating the complexities of the online world, dealing with school pressures, to coping with the global effects of a pandemic, the mental health landscape for children has never been more complex. Yet, it's heartening to see how resilient our youngest generation can be. With the right support, understanding, and tools, they navigate these challenges with surprising courage and adaptability. As adults - parents, caregivers, teachers, or coaches - it's our role to provide safe spaces for children to express their feelings, to equip them with the tools to manage stress and anxiety, and to remind them that it's okay to ask for help. This week, let's pledge not only to raise awareness but also to take tangible actions to support them. Let's validate their experiences, encourage open conversations, and educate ourselves to better support them. Remember, there are various resources available that can guide us in supporting our children's mental health. Let's make an all-out effort to make them feel heard, understood, and supported. #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek #EveryMindMatters #MentalHealthAwareness

🗣 “Support for young people must be diverse and adaptable, acknowledging that mental health isn’t a linear progression but a spectrum requiring tailored interventions. Achieving this requires unified efforts across statutory and voluntary services, bolstered by increased recruitment and training of mental health professionals.” This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, hear from Brook’s Chief Executive, Helen Marshall, in Children & Young People Now's latest article about young people’s mental health and support. https://lnkd.in/euPBnP4X

Every child deserves to grow up in an environment where their mental health is valued. It's about fostering resilience, empathy, and understanding from an early age, laying the foundation for a brighter and healthier future. I'm reminded of a touching story shared by a reader who found solace in our magazine's articles. A parent shared their story of going through their child's anxiety with newfound confidence, thanks to the resources and insights provided by Ayra Magazine. It's moments like these that reaffirm the significance of our collective efforts in raising awareness. As we advocate for children's mental health, let's remember that small actions can make a big difference. Whether it's starting conversations, supporting educational initiatives, or creating resources, each of us has the power to positively impact young lives. Together, we can create a world where every child feels seen, heard, and supported. Ayra Magazine aims to spread the message of hope and resilience. Together, let's shine a light on children's mental health today and every day. Together, we can make a difference. #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessDay

Get ready to mark your calendars, because Children's Mental Health Week is from 5-11 February 2024 with the theme: "My Voice Matters". Have you ever stopped to think about the immense impact of supporting children and young people to express themselves? When we give them the space and opportunity to be heard, amazing things happen. Their voices hold the power to transform communities and enhance their own self-esteem. This year, let's join forces and support the mental health and wellbeing of children from all walks of life. Regardless of age, background, or ability, every child deserves the chance to say - and truly believe - "My Voice Matters". As we embark on this meaningful journey during Children's Mental Health Week, I'd like to share one of my favourite quotes: "If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them, all of it has always been big stuff" - C.M. Wallace. Let's remember that even the little things matter. By listening attentively to our children, we create a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions. Together, we can make a lasting impact on their lives. So, get ready to spread awareness and support our youth during Children's Mental Health Week. Let's amplify their voices and ensure that their needs are acknowledged and addressed. Together, we can be the change our children need. #Childrensmentalhealthweek2024 #MyVoiceMatters #SupportOurYouth #mentalhealthawareness

Great seeing one of our referral partners, Natalie Bryan, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, on WFXG FOX54! She’s on often discussing how mental health impacts our local community. Today’s topic was preparing for back-to-school. Here are some simple ways to ease the transition from vacation-mode to school-mode: 🏖️➡️🏫 1. Early to bed, early to rise. Getting back into a school sleep schedule. 🌤️😴 2. Re-establish a routine. Establishing a consistent routine is important for kids. ⏰ 3. Encourage independence. 🙌 4. Choose the right backpack. 🎒 5. Talk about safety. 🚧 6. Establish healthy habits. 🥗🍗 7. Limit screen time. 📱
