9 Years at Tietoevry: Time Flies When You're Innovating!
Wow, it's been nine years since i've joined Tieto! Time really does fly when you're having fun and learning while overcoming challenges. It's been an exciting journey of innovation, learning, and working with an incredible mix of people, both colleagues and customers. Diversity is the spice of work life here, and it's added so much flavor to our projects.
Each project has been a journey of its own, packed with lessons learned and boundaries pushed. It's like every new challenge is the universe's way of saying, "Let's see what you've got," and I'm always ready to answer, "Let's find out, bring it on!"
Looking ahead, I'm pumped for the ongoing initiatives that promise even more learning curves. Energy ECS and #TrustedDigitalSocieties both keep me sharp and, honestly, a little bit on edge - in a good way. It's that constant push to improve and innovate that makes every day exciting.

As I reach my 3 month mark with Avanade , at a manager level, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the reality of my experiences. 3 things float to the surface that are worth mentioning for consultants thinking about joining the Big-Orange. The organization is huge. I don’t think this can be understated. There are some real benefits to this, and some challenges.
1. The culture is very engaged.
- On first week I had several people out of my reporting chain reach out to talk shop, find out what they could learn from me, and offer to share what they know.
- The Employee Networks are well supported by the Executive and all the workers. If you are concerned about being a minority in a large organization you should put that concern aside. Avanade welcomes everyone.
- The people are real and humble in the face of a massive internal bureaucracy. Each local team will have its own flavor, style, and communication.
2. The training and education is abundant.
- If you want to learn something there is a course for that. I get several invites a week to skills, tools, programs, and knowledge improvements. Next week I learn about AI.
- I have heard from many people that growth or change is expected. Where you start is not where you are locked. There seems to be a real culture around applied change and people doing what they enjoy.
- Providing knowledge is really valued. If you have a passion that can become a course that you can share with others – Avanade fully supports this.
3. The quality of performance is high.
- People are professionals. The expectation that everyone shows up ready to be a professional. This is self-replicating.
-People take pride in in their performance.
-Clients feel the difference. I have heard this directly that “It’s a relief to have the A-team on board”

Aloha my friends! 🤙🏼 Today a non MS Build topic, but something what is very important to me.
Imagine you are a young person, perhaps fresh out of university, with no professional experience. Companies always want the crème de la crème, the perfect consultant, the perfect developer, etc., preferably with endless years of professional experience. But I've never heard of a baby being born and us talking about Einstein's theory of relativity (up front, I'd probably lose this discussion). So we need time and trust in our talent so that talent actually becomes the incredible people we will then admire. Entry-level programs are therefore very important in order to have a chance to find yourself in a company for the first time. The programs can have different names, we call them Academies at Avanade.
Last week, I visited Lisbon in my vacation, and also the beautiful Avanade office. I had the opportunity to meet David Mota. You ask yourself who is this individual? He was part of the very first European ERP academy we executed. And I remember him as very active and supportive during these times.
Now finally I met him in real life (which is rare as Covid changed our travel behaviors a lot) and I'm very proud to see how he used his chance and became a great consultant. Previously, he was doing another job.
Lateral entrants can also bring real value to a company, so we shouldn't always focus on the one super expert. It's like many flowers that you plant, you don't know which one will end up being the biggest and most beautiful. But if you treat them all equally, you'll find out!
It's fantastic that we live these values at Avanade, and I'm also happy about every other company that gives talented people these opportunities. And if these people end up in the Microsoft community like me, ole ole party! 🥳

I'm thrilled to share that The Israel Innovation Authority רשות החדשנות has selected Amdocs for a visionary project - integrating people with #disabilities into technology roles. This initiative isn't just a step for Amdocs; it's a leap toward a future I deeply believe in.
This project is more than an organizational mission; it's a personal commitment to nurturing an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute regardless of their background or abilities.
We're embarking on a two-year journey, with the support of the Innovation Authority, to prove that this model isn't just feasible but beneficial for all. Integrating talented individuals from various backgrounds, including those with disabilities, , enriches our perspective and innovation capacity.
This initiative aligns with our mission for 2024 - fostering an inclusive workplace where #diversity is our strength, not just in theory but in practice.
The road ahead will have challenges, but we are committed to learning, adapting, and succeeding. This isn't about quick wins but sustainable, impactful change.
We plan to scale up and encourage other organizations to launch similar On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs.
This is a strategic move, combining business acumen with a social conscience, and from our experience, it's a formula for success. Let's take that step together and pave the way for a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient tech industry.
