This week we’re shining a spotlight on someone we’ve had the pleasure and privilege of working with over the last year. Nagela Dales is an unapologetic multi-hyphenated creative and business and equity strategist with a life mission to help create a radically inclusive, multi-generational economy. She is the founder of OpenHouse, they work with businesses to create more community, access and equity. It’s rare to meet someone who wholeheartedly understands people and communities as much as Nagela does. Her ability to step into someone else’s shoes, combined with her next-level creativity, means she is constantly identifying ways to make the world a better place. We first discovered Nagela when she was speaking at a conference about intergenerational grace (sub-titled: how not to be an a**hole to your mother while transcending to your higher self!) A powerful talk about understanding what someone has been through. A line from the talk that we often reference in our workshops, "the way to humanise the people around you is to ask for their hardest stories." Over the last year, we’ve been lucky enough to work with Nagela and the team at OpenHouse. She has helped us to centre empathy and community at the heart of what we do. She’s helped us to really understand our values and how to keep them front of mind. Her help has been invaluable and enabled us to see the potential of our work as a platform to drive real change. If you are looking to create more equity, more empathy and more fun in your business (who isn’t?!) get in touch with Nagela - you can find her contact details on the link below. #equity #empathy #genderinclusion #DEI #businessdesign #community https://lnkd.in/e4caHQUN

Principal Head of Startup Partnerships | Venture Capital I AI I Startup Scaling I Strategic Partnerships I Transformational Leader I Advisor I Speaker I Board Member I Founder I As seen on BBC, Forbes & TechCrunch
This week is Lesbian Visibility Week and it's a great time to celebrate our diverse community. As someone who came out 18 years ago, I've had the privilege of working with incredible organizations to further diversity work. In the tech world, I've contributed my time to Lesbians Who Tech & Allies and Venture Out Partnership. These organizations focus on expanding access and opportunities for LGBTQ people. Did you know that LGBTQ+ founders have created 36% more jobs, 114% more patents and 44% more exits than the average founder? Yet, these founders have raised less than 1% of startup funding. This is why organizations like Venture Out Partnership are so vital to our community. To learn more about our newest org gaining traction and insights into what I am working on, check out the article on Venture Out: https://lnkd.in/gPKVP6bG Let's continue to work towards an intersectional world where we all have the opportunity to actualize our full potential. #Lesbianvisibilityweek #Lesbiansintech @LGBTleaders

Co-Founder @ V3 Ventures I Founder @ Dr. Vaidya's (acquired) I D2C Founder & Early Stage Investor I Forbes Asia 30U30 I Podcast Host I Business World 40U40 I
We all have superwomen in our lives. This post is a tribute to mine -Trisha Rajani Vaidya 🦸♀ I’m biased but, I’d say she’s one of THE BEST at every role she plays - multi tasking from a co-founder to a wife and a mother. Honestly, I’m not half as good as her when it comes to being a partner. But, here’s what I’ve learned on running a successful partnership from her… 👫 Be a true cheerleader Even if you’re not directly involved in what your partner does, be there wholeheartedly. After we exited Dr. Vaidya's and I started V3 Ventures- we don’t work together anymore. Not only has Trisha adjusted to this new normal but, I feel constant support at each step ✨ 👫 Always lift the other person up In all our near death moments and times when I was almost ready to give up - she got me going again. Dr Vaidya’s wouldn’t be what it is, if it weren’t for the positivity, support and energy Trisha brought to the table🙌🏻 👫 Fill in for each other Like I said – Trisha is a superwoman. Whenever I can’t deliver at home or even at work she’s there. From helping with my LinkedIn inbox to managing our home finances when I miss out - she’s always there to cover up for me😀 👫 Cherish every moment Our lives are busy. And, we don’t get as much time as we’d like. She makes sure that we make 110% of the time we spend together instead of always hoping for more. We enjoy doing everything together, from online shopping to conducting D2C cohorts. (and even while changing diapers back in the day 😂) 👫 Respect Individuality Despite being a team, Trisha has taught me the importance of respecting and celebrating our differences. I love sports, she loves Bollywood movies. So there’s no fuss when we watch separate content at night every once in a while. A partnership (as I’ve learned) is about doing things together. But, it’s also as much about allowing each other to thrive when doing things independently. Yes, I do face push back when I travel too often 😂. But, I never feel unsupported. And, I always know I’ve got someone who has my back unconditionally :) I am what I am because of Trisha. And, today as on every other day - I think how lucky I got when I took the decision to ask her out in 2014 :) My life truly changed that day. Happy Women’s Day Trisha. And, here’s a reminder to appreciate the women in your life today and everyday. Because, they make you who you are :) PS: In the points above, I forgot to mention the travel checklist I get on WhatsApp before every trip that reminds me of all the things I forget to pack 😂. It’s the small things that matter! #womenempowerment #womensday #partnership #growth #support

Founders: The Silent Struggle with Burnout Recently, I had a conversation with one of our mentors Celestine Amoako-Boateng who shared that many founders he spoke with were feeling overwhelmingly tired and burned out. While there are numerous strategies to manage burnout and its consequences, it's crucial to address the root cause before reaching a stage of complete burnout. 🧠 Proactive Prevention Over Reactive Solutions Founders often wait until they are deeply burned out before taking action. However, like all things entrepreneurial, preventing burnout requires discipline, balance, and sometimes prioritizing self-care over the business. 💡 Key Insights: 1. You Are Not Your Business: Remember, you are an integral part of your startup, especially in the early stages. Without you, there is no business. Investing in your well-being is an investment in the longevity and success of your company. 2. Establish Healthy Boundaries: Set clear boundaries between work and personal life. This includes regular downtime and time off to recharge. 3. Seek Support Early: Don’t wait until burnout hits. Regularly seek support from mentors, peers, or mental health professionals. 🚀 Exciting Opportunity: We are currently seeking beta users for our flagship online self-paced course designed specifically for founders, by founders. This course aims to help you build sustainable skills for both personal well-being and business success. Join us in this journey towards creating a healthier, more balanced approach to entrepreneurship. Invest in yourself to ensure both you and your business can thrive. https://lnkd.in/gzAVZzAZ #FounderBurnout #MentalHealth #Entrepreneurship #SelfCare #Startups #WorkLifeBalance #Founders #Wellbeing #SustainableSuccess
