This is the definition I use for Formula Trauma. I got the idea from Formula One racing in which the teams are given a "Formula" or strict specifications for the cars. The specifications paradoxically enable innovation in the areas that areas not specified. We have analogous constraints in healthcare: Pathophysiology, the disease process, cost that are not under our control but we should recognize the areas where we can innovate.
