Nice endorsement of UAV LiDAR potential -- Minimum average absolute differences of 1.1 cm, 1 cm, and 0.7 cm were recorded for all profiles (from 1 m left to 1 m right of the road centerline) in the comparisons between UAV drone – RST, UAV drone – RLL, and RST – RLL methods, respectively.

The authors developed a low cost system for detecting and classifying consumer drones. Abstract The proliferation of #drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (#UAVs), has raised significant safety concerns due to their potential misuse in activities such as espionage, smuggling, and infrastructure disruption. This paper addresses the critical need for effective drone detection and classification systems that operate independently of UAV cooperation. We evaluate various convolutional neural networks (#CNNs) for their ability to detect and classify drones using spectrogram data derived from consecutive Fourier transforms of signal components. The focus is on model robustness in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environments, which is critical for real-world applications. A comprehensive dataset is provided to support future model development. In addition, we demonstrate a low-cost drone detection system using a standard computer, software-defined radio (SDR) and antenna, validated through real-world field testing. On our development dataset, all models consistently achieved an average balanced classification accuracy of >= 85% at SNR > -12dB. In the field test, these models achieved an average balance accuracy of > 80%, depending on transmitter distance and antenna direction. Our contributions include: a publicly available dataset for model development, a comparative analysis of CNN for drone detection under low SNR conditions, and the deployment and field evaluation of a practical, low-cost detection system.

This drone is unique, not only due to its advanced flight mechanics, but also because it is designed to work in conjunction with other similar drones. This autonomous system dubbed as “Drone Swarm” allows these drones to work together and share information. This feature enhances situational awareness for defense and reconnaissance services. A major feature is that 'Ghost 4' supports active hardware, enabling it for flight endurance, adaptable radio, payload options, and it can also share data across various systems simultaneously. Another impressive ability is the drone’s potential to link up with Anduril’s other products such as sentry towers and smaller drones. The drones incorporate AI for target identification and can operate in varied conditions due to its robust all-weather design. However, the use of AI in warfare sparks ethical debates. Nevertheless, Luckey argues that the role of AI and autonomy in Anduril’s products is to support human decision-makers rather than replace them. He believes this technology can minimize casualties by accurately identifying targets and reducing errors. Transformation in the defense sector is palpable as major industry players embrace frontier technologies. It has a range of 400deg/s, bias instability of 0.1 deg/hr, and an angular random walk of 0.05 deg/hr. Although the precision level is not as high as that of navigation MEMS gyroscope, the application range of tactical MEMS gyroscope is still very wide. It can be applied to AHRS, UAV, unmanned vehicle, IMU positioning and orientation, mainly for pitch, roll and heading measurement. In addition to the advantages of MEMS gyroscope, such as small size, low power consumption, light weight and other characteristics, compared with navigation-grade MEMS gyroscope, station data MEMS gyroscope is more cost-effective, and it is a very good choice for customers who need to control the budget.
