In a study published in Endocrine Practice, researchers suggest that initiating continuous glucose monitor use in the emergency department benefits diabetes patients with limited access to long-term care. The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School found greater A1c reduction with CGM, especially in newly diagnosed cases, indicating its feasibility and potential in engaging difficult-to-reach patients.
