Creating the Smartest and Safest Electric Mobility Ecosystem in India | Business Development and Strategic Partnerships | Axial Flux Motors| Ex -Yinlong Energy
Are you familiar with the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP)? It's an open-source communication standard for EV charging stations and network software companies. This means that any EV charging station that is OCPP-compliant can be configured to run any similarly OCPP-compliant software. With the rise of electric vehicles, OCPP is becoming an increasingly important tool for streamlining the charging process and making it more accessible to everyone. #EVcharging #OCPP #electricvehicles #Magenta #Chargers #ChargingInfrastructure

Hydrogen #hopium is about to claim two more victims. "In the first nine months of 2023, Hyzon reported a net loss of more than $134m, with zero revenue." Without doubt, it ain't easy being a new start up OEM. In the last 6 months we've seen Volta Trucks, Lightning eMotors, Proterra Inc and Lordstown Motors all declare bankruptcy, with Arrival looking distinctly on the edge. Yet, these 4 startup OEMs all had a decided advantage: a ready supply of compatible energy systems - ie their vehicles were electric. Let's face it, electricity is almost always aleady there, and it ain't that hard or usually expensive to set up chargers. Sometimes bureaucratic and delayed, but it's far from rocket science. As well, its almost always significantly cheaper to run electric vehicles vs gas or diesel vehicles. For OEMs doing hydrogen, it's a completely different story. Hydrogen infrastructure is as rare a competent Trump lawyer, and actually finding Hydrogen in that infrastructure is much harder again. Said infrastructure is also very costly, with hydrogen refueling stations costing $2-$20 million. What's more, hydrogen is extremely expensive, with current California pump prices around $35/kg. To be competitive with diesel, hydrogen needs to be around $2.50 - $3/kg. For cost conscious fleets, such extravagant expenses, like a >10x increase in energy costs over diesel don't just make it a non starter, but you'd be laughed at. That is, of course, if the refueling infrastructure is there, which it isn't. These two factors are what is choking off hydrogen light duty sales globally, and essentially have forced Toyota to pull FCEV out of all markets but Japan. Exactly the same outcome will happen for hydrogen trucks for exactly the same reasons. So, once a few curious and rich fleets have purchased, that'll be it. No one who does math can handle costs like that, and it's why Hyzon and Nikola will ultimately fail. Of course, it helps that neither had significant fraud cases in their history hanging over their heads. While this is not investment advice, the chances of both Hyzon and Nikola joining the 4 above in bankrupt in 2024 is looking pretty good. What do you think of the future of either Nikola or Hyzon? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below #automotive #batteries #climatechange #emobility #electricvehicles #innovation #sustainability
