Japan's autumn foliage may arrive later than usual due to warm temperatures fueled by climate change.🍁 🗓️ Multiple news outlets have reported this finding from the Japan Meteorological Corporation, a private forecaster. 🗓️ While Tokyo and Osaka’s foliage is on track to change colors according to the usual timeline, Kyoto is expected to be a week late, and the red foliage in Sapporo and Nagano is anticipated to be 11 days later than usual. Leaves change colors faster in colder temperatures. However, due to the nation's record-high summer temperatures (1.76°C ☀️ hotter than average), delays are expected. With countries' experiencing extreme summers year by year, our natural ecosystems' health and functionality are at risk. Why should we care for fall? 🍂Falling leaves prolong carbon sequestration by transferring carbon unto the soil🌳 🍂Falling leaves provide nutrients to the soil, essential for flora health🌱 🍂Falling leaves create homes and habitats for various organisms🕸️ Rising temperatures are a concern, but it's not too late to act! 🌏Begin your decarbonization journey today by measuring your emissions! #globalwarming #climatechange #fall
